<br />1. ALL WORK SHALL CONFORM TO THE COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN, IMPROVEMENT STANDARDS,
<br />CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS AND COUNTY STANDARD PLANS.
<br />2. ALL CONSTRUCTION STAKING SHALL BE DONE BY DILLON & MURPHY. STAKING BY OTHERS SHALL
<br />BE AT THEIR OWN RISK AND DILLON & MURPHY IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR FIELD CHANGES.
<br />3. CONTRACTOR AGREES THAT HE SHALL ASSUME SOLE AND COMPLETE RESPONSIBILITY FOR JOB
<br />SITE CONDITIONS DURING THE COURSE OF CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PROJECT, INCLUDING SAFETY
<br />FOR ALL PERSONS AND PROPERTY; THAT THIS REQUIREMENT SHALL APPLY CONTINUOUSLY AND
<br />NOT BE LIMITED TO NORMAL WORKING HOURS; AND THAT THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DEFEND,
<br />INDEMNIFY AND HOLD THE OWNER, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, AND THE ENGINEER HARMLESS FROM ANY AND
<br />ALL LIABILITY, REAL OR ALLEGED, IN CONNECTION WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF WORK ON THIS PROJECT,
<br />EXCEPTING FOR LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE SOLE NEGLIGENCE OF THE OWNER OR THE ENGINEER.
<br />4. THE EXISTING UNDERGROUND UTILITIES SHOWN WERE PLOTTED FROM EXISTING AVAILABLE RECORDS
<br />OBTAINED FROM THE UTILITY COMPANIES, NEITHER THE OWNER NOR THE ENGINEER SHALL BE
<br />RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACCURACY OF SUCH RECORDS AND DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT ALL
<br />UNDERGROUND FACILITIES ARE LOCATED PRECISELY AS SHOWN. PRIOR TO BEGINNING
<br />CONSTRUCTION, IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTORS RESPONSIBILITY TO ASCERTAIN FROM ALL
<br />UTILITY COMPANIES THE FIELD LOCATION OF THEIR UNDERGROUND FACILITIES. ALL KNOWN
<br />OWNERS OF UNDERGROUND FACILITIES IN THE AREA CONCERNED SHALL BE ADVISED OF PROPOSED
<br />WORK AT LEAST 48 HOURS PRIOR TO THE START OF ACTUAL EXCAVATION.
<br />5. EXCAVATION SAFETY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE SUBMITTING A CAL OSHA PERMIT OR LETTER OF
<br />NOTIFICATION TO THE CITY BEFORE EXCAVATION OF OVER FIVE FEET DEEP, REFER TO CITY
<br />CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS SEC. 8.19.04 "EXCAVATION SAFETY" FOR ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS.
<br />6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROTECTING FROM DAMAGE ALL EXISTING
<br />IMPROVEMENTS THAT ARE TO REMAIN, SUCH IMPROVEMENTS THAT ARE DAMAGED BY THE
<br />CONTRACTOR SHALL BE REPLACED AT HIS EXPENSE.
<br />7. PRIOR TO COMMENCING ANY WORK, IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE
<br />EACH UTILITY COMPANY LOCATE IN THE FIELD THEIR MAIN AND SERVICE LINES, THE CONTRACTOR
<br />SHALL NOTIFY MEMBERS OF THE UNDERGROUND SERVICE ALERT (U.S.A.) 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE
<br />OF ANY EXCAVATION WORK BY CALLING 800-642-2444.
<br />8. PRIOR TO SUBMITTING A BID, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PERFORM THE NECESSARY EARTHWORK
<br />CALCULATIONS TO DETERMINE THE AMOUNT OF CUT AND FILL AND RESULTANT EXCESS OR
<br />SHORTAGE OF DIRT ONSITE, AND NOTIFY THE CIVIL ENGINEER OF HIS RESULTS. IT IS THE
<br />CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT THE EARTHWORK SHALL BALANCE ONSITE.
<br />ANY EXCESS DIRT SHALL BE DISTRIBUTED EVENLY.
<br />9. APPROPRIATE DUST CONTROL IS TO BE PROVIDED FOR THE ALLEVIATION OR PREVENTION OF A
<br />DUST NUISANCE AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE.
<br />10. CONTRACTOR SHALL GIVE THE CIVIL ENGINEER A MINIMUM OF 48 HOURS NOTIFICATION PRIOR
<br />TO ANY AND ALL STAKING.
<br />11. CONSTRUCT 2.5' AC PAVING, OVER 9" AGGREGATE BASE, OVER 95% RELATIVE COMPACTION,
<br />12. PIPE MATERIAL SHALL BE AS FOLLOWS:
<br />A. STORM DRAIN: CL IV AND CL III RCP
<br />B. SANITARY SEWER: SDR35
<br />C. WATER: C900 CL150 PVC
<br />13. LOT GRADING SHALL BE COMPLETED BEFORE STARTING ANY UNDERGROUND CONSTRUCTION.
<br />14. FINAL PAVEMENT WORK SHALL NOT OCCUR WITHIN THE ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY PRIOR TO COMPLETION OF
<br />UTILITY RELOCATION WITHOUT SPECIFIC APPROVAL OF THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS(DIRECTOR).
<br />15. A TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN (TCP) SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO AND DEEMED ACCEPTABLE BY THE COUNTY
<br />PRIOR TO START OF WORK. THIS SHALL ADDRESS ALL PHASES OF WORK, WHICH WALL IMPACT PUBLIC
<br />TRAFFIC, CONFORMANCE WITH THE TCP SHALL BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES,
<br />16. ALL TRAFFIC SIGNS AND MARKINGS SHALL CONFORM TO THE "MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL
<br />DEVICES AND SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY STANDARDS" AND AS SHOWN ON THESE PLANS.
<br />17. ANY CHANGES TO THE APPROVED IMPROVEMENT PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS MUST BE PREPARED AND CERTIFIED
<br />BY THE "CIVIL ENGINEER", AND SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE DIRECTOR FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO IMPLEMENTATION.
<br />18. WHENEVER PAVEMENT IS BROKEN OR CUT IN THE INSTALLATION OF THE WORK COVERED BY THE PLANS AND
<br />SPECIFICATIONS, THE PAVEMENT SHALL BE REPLACED AFTER PROPER BACKFILLING, WITH PAVEMENT MATERIALS EQUAL
<br />TO OR BETTER THAN THE MATERIALS USED IN THE ORIGINAL PAVING.
<br />19. DRAINAGE FACILITIES SHALL BE MAINTAINED DURING PERIODS OF INCLEMENT WEATHER, AND RESTORED TO THEIR
<br />ORIGINAL CONDITIONS UPON COMPLETION OF THE WORK.
<br />20. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL STREET NAMES WITH THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT (468-0816)
<br />BEFORE ORDERING STREET SIGNS.
<br />21. CONTRACTOR SHALL FILE A NOTICE OF INTENT WITH THE STATE BOARD AND SUBMIT A STORM WATER POLLUTION
<br />PREVENTION PLAN TO SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY.
<br />22. ALL SANITARY SEWERS ARE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND ARE TO BE APPROVED AND MAINTAINED BY THE CITY OF
<br />STOCKTON.
<br />23. CITY OF STOCKTON APPROVAL OF THESE PLANS FOR THE SANITARY SEWER LINE ONLY. ALL OTHER IMPROVEMENTS
<br />1 -FOOT ABOVE THE TOP OF PIPE IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY.
<br />24. AN ENCROACHMENT PERMIT AND PRECONSTRUCTION MEETING IS REQUIRED BEFORE CONSTRUCTION CAN BEGIN.
