<br />GRADING and DRAINAGE PLAN NOTES
<br />1. ALL WORK AND MATERIALS SHALL BE INCOMPLETE ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT STAN-
<br />DARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS OF SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
<br />AND THESE APPROVED SET OF PLANS.
<br />2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING THE LOCATION AND DEPTH
<br />OF ALL BURIED UTILITIES PRIOR TO BEGINNING CONSTRUCTION. SEE SITE AND
<br />UTILITY NOTE NO. 3.
<br />3. GRADING OUTSIDE OF THE CO.. RIGHT-OF-WAY MUST COMPLY WITH CHAPTER 70 OF
<br />THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE.
<br />4. ALL SIDE SLOPES SHOWN ON THESE PLANS SHALL BE 2:1 (MAXIMUM), UNLESS
<br />OTHERWISE SPECIFIED.
<br />5. BACKFILL TRENCH OF PIPES IN LIFTS OF 6"-8 AND COMPACT TO 95% REi.i VE
<br />COMPACTION UNDER ROADWAYS AND 90% COMPACTION OFF ROADWAYS. ALL PIPE SHALL
<br />BE INSTALLED WITH CLASS "B" BEDDING IN ACCORDANCE WITH APWA STANDARDS.
<br />6. ALL WORK SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SOILS ENGINEER'S RECOMMENDATIONS.
<br />SEE SOILS REPORT NOTES.
<br />7. THE OWNER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO HAVE ALL GRADING OPERATIONS, EXCAVATION,
<br />FILL, COMPACTION, TRENCHING AND BACKFILL INSPECTED AND TESTED BY A
<br />QUALIFIED REGISTERED SOILS ENGINEER. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SCHEDULE AND
<br />COOPERATE WITH THE SOILS ENGINEER WHEN TESTS, INSPECTIONS AND APPROVALS
<br />ARE DEEMED NECESSARY BY THE OWNER TO ASSURE COMPLIANCE WITH THE ESTABLISHED
<br />RECOMMENDATIONS.
<br />8. PRIOR TO THE START OF GRADING, ALL EXISTING VEGETATION, DEBRIS, RUBBLE,
<br />TREES, AND ROOT SYSTEMS SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE SITE TO THE SATISFACTION
<br />OF THE OWNER.
<br />9. IF ANY UNKNOWN SUB -SURFACE STRUCTURES ARE ENCOUNTERED DURING CONSTRUCTION,
<br />THEY SHALL IMMEDIATELY BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ENGINEER AND THE
<br />OWNER PRIOR TO PROCEEDING.
<br />10. DUST SHALL BE CONTROLLED BY WATERING THROUGHOUT THE GRADING AND BUILDING
<br />CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ARRANGE AND PAY FOR
<br />CONSTRUCTION WATER.
<br />11. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE TOR THE PROTECTION OF ALL EXISTING
<br />UTILITIES TO REMAIN IN USE WITHIN THE CONSTRUCTION AREA WHETHER SHOWN OR
<br />NOT SHOWN ON PLANS.
<br />12. PROTECTIVE MEASURES SHALL BE TAKEN BY THE CONTRACTOR TO PROTECT ADJACENT
<br />PROPERTIES, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE, AT ALL TIMES DURING CONSTRUCTION AND NOT
<br />TO CAUSE ANY MUD, SILT OR DEBRIS TO BE ONTO THE ADJACENT PROPERTIES. ANY
<br />MUD OR DEBRIS CAUSED ON ADJACENT PROPERTY SHALL BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY.
<br />13. ALL DISTURBED AREAS SHALL BE SEEDED OR STABILIZED BY COUNTY METHODS FOR
<br />PREVENTION OF ON-SITE EROSION AFTER THE COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION.
<br />14. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IMPORTING AND/OR EXPORTING ALL
<br />MATERIAL AS REQUIRED TO PROPERLY GRADE THIS SITE TO THE FINISHED ELEVATIONS
<br />SHOWN HEREON IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPROVED PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, AND
<br />THE SOILS ENGINEER'S RECOMMENDATIONS.
<br />SOIL REPORT NOTES
<br />1. THE FOLLOWING SOILS REPORT FOR THE SITE SHALL BE CONSIDERED PART OF
<br />THESE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS:

<br />2. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO ENSURE THAT ALL
<br />PROVISIONS OF THE SOILS REPORT FOR THE SITE BE OBSERVED AND COMPLIED
<br />'WITH DURING ALL PHASES OF THE SITE PREPARATION, GRADING OPERATIONS,
<br />FOUNDATION, SLAB, AND PAVING CONSTRUCTION.
<br />3. ANY PROVISION OF THE SOILS REPORT WHICH CONFLICT WITH INFORMATION SHOWN
<br />ELSEWHERE ON THESE DRAWINGS, OR WHICH REQUIRE FURTHER CLARIFICATION,
<br />SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ARCHITECT FOR DETERMINATION.
<br />4. A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE SOILS ENGINEER SHALL BE AVAILABLE TO OBSERVE AND
<br />APPROVE THE EARTHWORK OPERATIONS AND TO VERIFY FIELD CONDITIONS AS WORK
<br />PROCEEDS. THE SOILS ENGINEER SHALL SUBMIT FIELD REPORTS CERTIFYING THAT
<br />THE METHODS AND MATERIALS OF THE EARTHWORK OPERATIONS WERE IN ACCORDANCE
<br />WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE SOIL'S INVESTIGATION AND THAT THE
<br />WAS ,PERFORMED TO HIS SATISFACTION.
<br />SITE and UTILITY NOTES
<br />1. ALL WORK AND MATERIALS SHALL BE INCOMPLETEACCORDANCE WITH THE CURRENT
<br />SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS, CHAPTER 70 OF THE UNIFORM
<br />BUILDING CODE (LATEST EDITION),WOODBRIDGE SANITARY DISTRICT, AND ALL
<br />OTHER GOVERNING AGENCY'S STANDARDS.
<br />2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN AND HAVE AVAILABLE COPIES OF THE APPLICABLE
<br />GOVERNING AGENCY STANDARDS AT THE JOB SITE DURING THE RELATED CONSTRUC-
<br />TION OPERATIONS.
<br />3.' THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING THE LOCATION,
<br />DIMENSION, AND DEPTH OF ALL EXISTING UTILITIES PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION
<br />WHETHER SHOWN ON THESE PLANS OR NOT. LOCATIONS OF SAID UTILITIES AS
<br />SHOWN ON THESE PLANS ARE BASED UPON THE BEST RECORDS AVAILABLE AND ARE
<br />SUBJECT TO A DEGREE 07 UNKNOWN VARIATION. IF CONFLICTS SHOULD OCCUR,
<br />THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONSULT BARGHAUSEN CONSULTING ENGINEERS, INC., TO
<br />RESOLVE ALL'PROBLEMS PRIOR TO PROCEEDING WITH CONSTRUCTION.
<br />4. IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY THE APPROPRIATE
<br />UTILITIES INVOLVED PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION. (SEE CONTACT LIST, SHEET
<br />C-1.)
<br />5. TWO COPIES OF THESE APPROVED PLANS MUST ON THE JOB SITE WHENEVER
<br />CONSTRUCTION IS IN PROGRESS, ONE SET SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO BARGHAUSEN
<br />CONSULTING ENGINEERS, INC., WITH RECORD OF AS -BUILT INFORMATION AT
<br />COMPLETION OF PROJECT.
<br />6. INSPECTION WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED BY REPRESENTATIVES OF THE SAN JOAQUIN
<br />COUNTY AND WOODBRIDGE SANITARY DISTRICT. IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S
<br />RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY THE FIELD INSPECTION SECTIONS 24 HOURS IN
<br />ADVANCE OF BACKFILLING ALL CONSTRUCTION.
<br />7. PRIOR TO ANY CONSTRUCTION/DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
<br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS INSPECTION SECTION MUST BE CONTACTED FOR A
<br />PRE -CONSTRUCTION MEETING.
<br />8. CONTRACTOR SHALL REFER TO GUIDELINES AND RECOMMENDATIONS SET FORTH IN
<br />GEOTECHNICAL STUDY FOR ALTERNATE PAVEMENT SECTIONS, SUBGRADE PREPARATION
<br />AND OTHER APPLICABLE SITE PREPARATION DESIGNS. (SEE SOILS REPORT
<br />NOTES.)
<br />9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROTECTION OF ALL EXISTING
<br />UTILITIES TO REMAIN IN USE WITHIN THE CONSTRUCTION AREA WHETHER SHOWN OR
<br />NOT SHOWN ON THE PLAN.
<br />10. UTILITY LINES MAY NOT BE COVERED UNTIL AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN TESTED AND
<br />APPROVED BY OWNER AND GOVERNING AGENCY. UPON COMPLETION OF THE BACKFILL
<br />OPERATIONS, THE UTILITY LINES SHALL BE RETESTED.
<br />11. ALL UTILITY LINE EXCAVATION BEDDING AND BACKFILL MATERIALS, AND COMPAC-
<br />TION SHALL BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SOILS ENGINEER'S RECOM-
<br />MENDATIONS AND THE GOVERNING AGENCY REQUIREMENTS. UTILITY LINES INCLUDE
<br />STORM DRAIN, WATER, SEWER, ELECTRICAL, TELEPHONE, GAS, AND LANDSCAPE
<br />IRRIGATION LINES.
<br />12. ALL WATER SERVICE SHALL BE COPPER TUBING CONFORMING TO ASTM B-88
<br />(TYPE 'K'), ANNEALED. THE TUBING SHALL BE COUPLED USING FLARE TYPE
<br />COMPRESSION FITTINGS CONFORMING TO AWWA C800 (150 PSI WORKING PRESSURE).
<br />13. ALL ON-SITE SEWER FACILITIES SHALL CONFORM TO THE CURRENT UNIFORM
<br />PLUMBING CODE. -
<br />14. ALL PVC PIPE AND PITTINGS SHALL MEET EXTRA STRENGTH MIN. OF SDR -35 OF
<br />THE REQUIREMENTS OF ASTM SPECIFICATIONS D-3034-73.
<br />15. ALL NEW ON-SITE ASPHALT PAVEMENT SHALL CONSIST OF:
<br />- 3"(MIN.) COMPACTED DEPTH CLASS "B" ASPHALT CONCRETE, OVER
<br />- 7-1/2"(MIN.) AGGREGATE BASE (CLASS 2) COMPACTED TO 95% OF MAXIMUM
<br />DENSITY PER ASTM D-1557, OVER
<br />- STRUCTURAL FILL COMPACTED TO 95%OF MAXIMUM DENSITY PER ASTM D-1557.
<br />16. ALL NEW ON-SITE CONCRETE PAVEMENT SHALL CONSIST OF:

<br />AT MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDED RATE TO ASSURE 3" MINIMUM PENETRATION.
<br />19. PONDING OR "BIRDBATHS" EXCEEDING ONE-QUARTER INCH IN DEPTH SHALL NOT BE
<br />ACCEPTABLE AND SHALL BE CORRECTED BY THE CONTRACTOR.
<br />20. CONTRACTOR HAS BEEN DIRECTED TO 'POT HOLE' AND LOCATE EXISTING
<br />UNDERGROUND UTILITIES PRIOR TO COMMENCING ANY GRADING OPERATIONS.
<br />CONTRACTOR SHALL WAIVE AY RIGHTS TO CHARGE FOR ANY EXTRA WORK
