Contractor agrees that he shall assume sole and complete <br />responsibility for job site conditions during the course of <br />construction of this project, including safety of all persons and <br />property; that this requirement shall apply continuously and not <br />be limited to normal working hours; and that the contractor shall <br />defend, indemnify and hold harmless, the County of San Joaquin, <br />its elected officials, officers, employees, and agents from any <br />and all claims, costs of litigation, damages, and attorney's <br />fees, for personal injury or property damage of whatever nature <br />which are claimed to have occurred during the term of this <br />project. <br />2. All construction practices and materials to conform to <br />San Joaquin County Standards and State of California, Department <br />of Transportation Standard Specifications, including but not <br />limited to the following specific items: <br />ITEM STATE & COUNTY SECTION <br />Aggregate Base 26 <br />Asphalt Concrete 39 <br />Clearing 4 Grubbing 16 <br />3. Contractor to obtain all necessary permits prior to <br />start of work. Encroachment Permit shall be obtained prior to <br />any work within San Joaquin County right-of-way. <br />4. The contractor shall provide all lights, signs, <br />barricades, flagmen, or other devices necessary to provide for <br />public safety. <br />5. All traffic signs and markings shall conform to the Manua: <br />on Uniform Traffic Control Devices & County Standards. <br />6. Remove all existing interior fencing and perimeter <br />fencing along Lone Tree Road. Contractor to be responsible for <br />removal and disposal of all waste materials. <br />7. All existing utility poles and lines lying within the <br />project boundaries and the future right-of-way of Lone Tree Road <br />are to be relocated to the dedicated 10' P.U.E.'s as shown. <br />Future utility service to each lot is to be provided via overhead <br />poles and lines also located within the dedicated 10' P.U.E.'s as <br />shown. Demolish and remove all existing structures unless <br />otherwise indicated. Excavate and remove all underground pipes <br />and structures including septic tanks and leach fields unless <br />otherwise indicated. <br />9. Preserve and protect existing wells, properly seal under <br />Permit from San Joaquin County Department of Environmental <br />Health. <br />10. Remove trees from future right-of-way line of Lone <br />Tree Road; otherwise preserve and protect all existing trees. <br />Avoid grading and excavation within 10 feet of drip line, if <br />possible. <br />11. Remove headwall along south side of Lone Tree Road. <br />Extend existing 18" RCP culverts to centerline of new shou..der <br />ditch. - <br />12. Preserve and protect horizontal and vertical mo;.uments <br />wherever possible. <br />13. Contractor to verify all required dimensions, <br />elevations, quantities, and conditions on site. <br />14. The contractor shall excavate, fill and grade the <br />project site in order that the site improvements can be <br />constructed to the grades and slopes shown on the plans. <br />Adjustments to finished or subgrade elevations to achieve cut and <br />fill balance shall be made only with the approval of the <br />engineer. The contractor shall be held responsible for any field <br />changes made without authorization from the engineer. <br />15. All areas to be covered with asphalt co.tcrete paving <br />shall have a subgrade compacted to 35% relative compaction to a <br />point 6" below subgrade.
