SPECIFICATIONS:
<br />1. ALL IMPROVEMENTS SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
<br />REQUIREMENTS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN IMPROVEMENT
<br />SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS, AND THE LATEST EDITION OF THE
<br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, DIVISION OF
<br />HIGHWAYS STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS.
<br />2. INHERE THE PLANS OR SPECIFICATIONS DESCRIBE PORTIONS OF
<br />WORK IN GENERAL TERMS BUT NOT IN COMPLETE DETAIL, IT IS
<br />UNDERSTOOD THAT ONLY THE BEST GENERAL PRACTICE IS TO PREVAIL
<br />AND THAT ONLY MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP OF THE FIRST QUALITY
<br />ARE TO BE USED.
<br />3. LINES AND GRADES: ALL DISTANCES AND MEASUREMENTS ARE GIVEN
<br />AND WILL BE MADE IN A HORIZONTAL PLANE. GRADES ARE GIVEN FROM
<br />THE TOP OF STAKES OR NAILS, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. THE
<br />CONTRACTOR SHALL PRESERVE ALL STAKES AND POINTS SET FOR
<br />LINES, GRADES OR MEASUREMENTS OF THE WORK IN THEIR PROPER
<br />PLACES UNTIL AUTHORIZED TO REMOVE THEM BY THE ENGINEER. ALL
<br />EXPENSES INCURRED IN REPLACING STAKES THAT HAVE BEEN REMOVED
<br />WITHOUT PROPER AUTHORITY SHALL BE PAID FOR BY THE GENERAL
<br />CONTRACTOR.
<br />4. ALL MANHOLE, LAMPHOLE AND WATER VALVE CASTINGS AND
<br />COVERS SHALL BE ADJUSTED TO FINISH GRADE BY THE PAVING
<br />CONTRACTOR AFTER STREET IMPROVEMENTS ARE COMPLETED.
<br />5. COMPACTION TESTS: CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE COMPACTION TESTS
<br />IN STREETS AS REQUIRED BY SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, AT THE
<br />CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE
<br />6. UST CONTROL: APPROPRIATE DUST CONTROL TO BE PROVIDED FOR
<br />TH4 ALLEVIATION OR PREVENTION OF DUST NUISANCE, AT THE
<br />wQ�IEAQIQR'S EXPENSE.
<br />7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL LOCAL, STATE AND
<br />FEDERAL SAFETY REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO HIS OPERATIONS. HE
<br />SHALL PROVIDE ALL LIGHTS, SIGNS, BARRICADES, FLAGMEN OR OTHER
<br />DEVICES NECESSARY FOR PUBLIC SAFETY. THE CONTRACTOR'S
<br />ATtENTION IS CALLED TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF TITLE 8, CALIFORNIA
<br />ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, SUBCHAPTER 4, ARTICLE 6, "EXCAVATIONS,
<br />TRENCHES, EARTHWORK." SEE ALSO SECTION 5 OF SAN JOAQUIN
<br />COUNTY STANDARDS.
<br />8. CONTRACTOR AGREES THAT HE SHALL ASSUME SOLE AND COMPLETE
<br />RESPONSIBILITY FOR JOB SITE CONDITIONS DURING THE COURSE OF
<br />CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PROJECT, INCLUDING SAFETY OF ALL PERSONS
<br />AND PROPERTY; THAT THIS REQUIREMENT SHALL APPLY CONTINUOUSLY
<br />AND NOT BE LIMITED TO NORMAL WORKING HOURS; AND THAT THE
<br />CONTRACTOR SHALL DEFEND, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD THE OWNER AND
<br />THE ENGINEER HARMLESS FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, REAL OR
<br />ALLEGED, IN CONNECTION WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF WORK ON THE
<br />PROJECT, EXCEPTING FOR LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE SOLE
<br />NEGLIGENCE OF THE OWNER OR THE ENGINEER.
<br />9. CONTRACTOR AGREES THAT HE SHALL ASSUME SOLE AND COMPLETE
<br />RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE JOB SITE CONDITIONS DURING THE COURSE OF
<br />CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PROJECT, INCLUDING SAFETY OF ALL PERSONS
<br />AND PROPERTY; THAT THIS REQUIREMENT SHALL APPLY CONTINUOUSLY
<br />AND NOT BE LIMITED TO NORMAL WORKING HOURS; AND THAT THE
<br />CONTRACTOR SHALL DEFEND, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS, THE
<br />COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN, ITS ELECTED OFFICIALS, OFFICERS,
<br />EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, COSTS OF
<br />LITIGATION, DAMAGES, AND ATTORNEY'S FEES, FOR PERSONAL INJURY
<br />OR PROPERTY DAMAGE OF WHATEVER NATURE WHICH ARE CLAIMED TO
<br />HAVE OCCURRED DURING THE TERM OF THIS PROJECT.
<br />EROSION CONTROL NOTES:
<br />1. ALL DRAIN INLETS SHALL HAVE EROSION CONTROL
<br />PER DETAILS EC -1 & EC -2.
<br />2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH THE
<br />REQUIREMENTS OF THE STATE WATER RESOURCES
<br />CONTROL BOARD, ORDER NO. 92-06-DWQ, NPDES
<br />GENERAL PERMIT NO. CAS000002. THE CONTRACTOR
<br />SHALL DEVELOP, IMPLEMENT, AND MONITOR A STORM
<br />WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION PLAN (SWPPP) IN
<br />ACCORDANCE WITH THE ABOVE PERMIT.
<br />TRAFFIC CONTROL:
<br />1. ALL TRAFFIC SIGNS, MARKING, AND STRIPING SHALL CONFORM
<br />TO THE "MANUAL OF UNIFORM CONTROL DEVICES AND SAN
<br />JOAQUIN COUNTY STANDARDS" AND AS SHOWN ON THESE
<br />PLANS.
<br />2. A MINIMUM OF ONE 10' TRAFFIC LANE SHALL BE MAINTAINED
<br />AT ALL TIMES, WITH TRAFFIC DELAYS LIMITED TO A MAXIMUM OF
<br />15 MINUTES. A MINIMUM OF TWO 10' TRAFFIC LANES SHALL BE
<br />MAINTAINED DURING NON -WORKING HOURS. TRAFFIC CONTROLS
<br />SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 12 OF THE CALTRANS
<br />STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS.

<br />GENERAL NOTES:
<br />1. A PERMIT SHALL BE OBTAINED FROM SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY BEFORE
<br />BEGINNING WORK IN MOSHER SLOUGH. A PERMIT SHALL BE OBTAINED
<br />FROM THE SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO
<br />CONSTRUCTION OF WELLS AND PRIOR TO THE DESTRUCTION OF THE
<br />ABANDONED WELLS ONSITE.
<br />2. CONTRACTOR SHALL LOCATE AND PRESERVE ALL FACILITIES INCLUDING
<br />GAS, WATER, IRRIGATION, SEWER, POWER, STREET LIGHTS, TELEPHONE AND
<br />OTHERS WHICH MAY BE IN THE AREA OF CONSTRUCTION. RESPECTIVE
<br />UTILITY COMPANIES SHALL BE NOTIFIED PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF
<br />WORK.
<br />3. A 10 FOOT PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENT IS TO BE PROVIDED ALONG ALL
<br />STREET FRONTAGES.
<br />4. P.G. & E. AND PACIFIC BELL FACILITIES ARE TO BE INSTALLED BY THE
<br />RESPECTIVE UTILITY COMPANIES AND ARE TO OCCUPY A JOINT TRENCH IN
<br />THE 10 FOOT PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENT.
<br />5. WATER MAINS AND SERVICES ARE TO BE INSTALLED BY THE DEVELOPER
<br />ACCORDING TO THE SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY IMPROVEMENT STANDARDS FOR
<br />PUBLIC WORKS, CHAPTER 4.
<br />6. SET BACKS ARE AS REQUIRED BY ORDINANCE OR DEED RESTRICTIONS.
<br />7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN A PERMIT FROM THE SAN JOAQUIN
<br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO PLACING FILL ON LOTS.
<br />B. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH AND INSTALL TRAFFIC CONTROL
<br />SIGNS, STREET NAME SIGNS AND PAINTING IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
<br />COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN IMPROVEMENT SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS,
<br />AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
<br />MANUAL OF UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES.
<br />9. CALL USA TOLL FREE 800-642-2444 BEFORE PLANTING TREES,
<br />TRENCHING, DIGGING FENCE POST HOLES, BLASTING, GRADING, EXCAVATING,
<br />DRILLING, PIPE PUSHING, ETC., CALL UNDERGROND SERVICE ALERT FOR
<br />UNDERGROUND CLEARANCE. USA WILL PROVIDE INFORMATION ABOUT, OR
<br />LOCATE AND MARK UNDERGROUND FACILITIES FOR YOU.
<br />10. A TEST WELL WHICH SHOWS THAT THE PRODUCTION WELL WILL MEET
<br />APPLICABLE STANDARDS IS REQUIRED PRIOIR TO THE APPROVAL OF THE
<br />IMPROVEMENT PLANS OR ANY WORK WITHIN THE SITE.
<br />11. A TRENCH SHORING PLAN SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO AND DEAMED
<br />ACCEPTABLE BY COUNTY PRIOR TO THE START OF WORK. SHORING AND
<br />PLATING WHICH IS SUBJECT TO PUBLIC TRAFFIC LOADINGS SHALL
<br />BE DESIGNED AND CERTIFIED BY A CALIFORNIA LICENSED CIVIL ENGINEER.
<br />12. DRAINAGE FACILITIES SHALL BE MAINTAINED DURING PERIODS OF
<br />INCLEMENT WEATHER, AND RESTORED TO THEIR ORIGINAL CONDITION UPON
<br />COMPLETION OF WORK.
<br />13. WELL DRILLING AND DEVELOPMENT LOGS TO BE FURNISHED TO THE
<br />COUNTY.
