GENERAL NOTES
<br />BOGGS TRACT SEWER COLLECTION SYSTEM
<br />1. ALL IMPROVEMENTS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH THE COUNTY OF SAN
<br />JOAQUIN IMPROVEMENT STANDARDS, LATEST EDITION, AND ALL AMENDMENTS THERETO TO -DATE,
<br />AND WITH THE SPECIAL PROVISIONS AND SPECIFCATIONS PROVIDED IN THE CONTRACT
<br />DOCUMENTS.
<br />2. CONTRACTOR AGREES THAT HE SHALL ASSUME SOLE AND COMPLETE RESPONSIBILITY FOR JOB SITE
<br />CONDITIONS DURING THE COURSE OF CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PROJECT, INCLUDING SAFETY OF ALL
<br />PERSONS AND PROPERTY, THAT THIS REQUIREMENT SHALL APPLY CONTINUOUSLY AND NOT BE LIMITED TO
<br />NORMAL WORKING HOURS, AND THAT THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DEFEND, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD THE
<br />COUNTY HARMLESS FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, REAL OR ALLEGED, IN CONNECTION WITH THE
<br />PERFORMANCE OF WORK ON THIS PROJECT, EXCEPTING FOR LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE SOLE
<br />NEGLIGENCE OF THE COUNTY.
<br />3. EXISTING UTILITIES ARE SHOWN AS THEY ARE BELIEVED TO EXIST. THE CITY OR COUNTY DO NOT
<br />ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACCURACY. PRIOR TO COMMENCING ANY WORK, THE CONTRACTOR
<br />SHALL HAVE EACH UTILITY COMPANY ACCURATELY LOCATE IN THE FIELD THEIR MAINS AND SERVICE
<br />LINES. IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO PROTECT ALL EXISTING UTILITIES. 50 THAT
<br />NO DAMAGE RESULTS TO THEM DURING THE PERFORMANCE OF HIS CONTRACT. CONTACT (-U.S.A.,

<br />4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN ACCESS TO ALL PROPERTIES ADJACENT TO THE WORK
<br />THROUGHOUT THE PERIOD OF CONSTRUCTION.
<br />5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL STATE COUNTY, AND CITY LAWS AND ORDINANCES
<br />RELATING TO THE SAFETY AND CHARACTER OF WORK, EQUIPMENT AND LABOR PERSONNEL. THIS
<br />SHALL INCLUDE BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO. THE SHORING OF TRENCHES, VENTILATION OF CONFINED
<br />SPACES, CONFORMANCE TO TRAFFIC CONTROL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING THE PROVISION AND
<br />MAINTENANCE OF BARRICADES AND THE PREPARATION AND IMPLEMENTATION 01 TRAFFIC CONTROL
<br />PLANS AS REQUIRED.
<br />S. ALL OPEN CUT CONSTRUCTION FOR PIPING, ACCESS PITS, AND MAINTENANCE HOLES SHALL HAVE SHORING
<br />SYSTEMS IN COMPLIANCE WITH CAL OSHA AND COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN REQUIREMENTS, THE APPROVED
<br />SHORING SYSTEM SHALL. BE USED FOR CONSTRUCTION OF OPEN CUT PIPING. CONTRACTOR SHALL
<br />REPAIR AND REPLACE WITH LIKE AND KIND ANY DAMAGE CAUSED BY INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL OF
<br />SHORING SYSTEMS TO PRECONSTRUCTION CONDITION.
<br />7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ARRANGE A PRE -CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE. NOTIFY THE COUNTY OF
<br />SAN JOAQUIN AT (209) 468-3000 AT LEAST 5 WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO START OF WORK.
<br />e- CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN AN ENCROACHMENT PERMIT PRIOR TO ANY WORK DONE WITHIN THE CITY
<br />RIGHT-OF-WAY FROM THE ST MY WORK
<br />OF STPUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, AND NOTIFY THE Cl
<br />24 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF STARTING ANY WORK REQUIRED IN THE PIANS.
<br />9_ CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN A PERMIT FROM THE CALIFORNIA WATER SERVICE COMPANY FOR
<br />USE OF WATER FROM ANY FIRE HYDRANT. THE PERMIT SHALL ALSO BE APPROVED BY THE
<br />CITY OF STOCKTON FIRE DEPARTMENT.
<br />10. ALL SEWER PIPES SHALL BE TESTED FOR WATER TIGHTNESS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
<br />COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS.
<br />11. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ARRANGING FOR REQUIRED INSPECTIONS. THE PRESENCE
<br />OR ABSENCE OF A COUNTY REPRESENTATIVE OR OTHER INSPECTOR WILL NOT RELIEVE THE
<br />CONTRACTOR OF FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PROPER PERFORMANCE OF THE WORK.
<br />12. IN ALL LOCATIONS WHERE TRENCH PLATE IS USED ON THIS PROJECT THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
<br />SUPPLY SKID RESISTANT COATING ON THE TRENCH PULE AND COLD MIX A.C. AT THE EDGES.
<br />TRANSITION A . AT 1:5. TRENCH PLATES SHALL BE, WEDGED AND SHIMMED TO PREVENT SLIPPAGE
<br />AND ROCKING UNDER TRAFFIC.
<br />13. MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT USED ON THIS PROJECT SHALL BE SELECTED TO MINIMIZE DAMAGE TO THE
<br />EXISTING PAVEMENT ALONG THE PROJECT SITE AND TO ALL ROADS USED AS TRUCK ROUTES TO
<br />BRING MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT TO THE PROJECT. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE REQUIRED TO
<br />REPLACE DAMAGED AC PAVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.
<br />19. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT ALL EXISTING IMPROVEMENTS NOT DESIGNATED FOR DEMOLITION
<br />OR REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT, ALL DAMAGED EXISTING IMPROVEMENTS AND THOSE IMPROVEMENTS
<br />THAT HAVE BEEN REMOVED OR TEMPORARILY RELOCATED SHALL BE RESTORED BY THE CONTRACTOR
<br />TO A CONDNION EQUAL TO OR BETTER THAN ITS CONDITION PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION,
<br />IMPROVEMENTS DESIGNATED FOR DEMOLITION SHALL BE DEMOLISHED AND DISPOSED OF BY THE
<br />CONTRACTOR DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PERIOD, ANY DAMAGE TO THE ADJACENT IMPROVEMENTS
<br />SHALL BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED BY THE CONTRACTOR AT NO COST TO THE COUNTY.
<br />15. TRENCH PAVING CUTS SHALL BE WHEEL OR KNIFE CUT EXCEPT FOR ON FRESNO AVE. AND
<br />WASHINGTON ST. WHICH MUST BE SAW CUT. ROUGH POLLS THAT DEVELOP DURING CONSTRUCTION
<br />SHALL BE SAW CUT PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF PAVEMENT PATCH. AREAS OF A.B. UNDERMINING
<br />SHALL BE SAW CUT 12 INCHES BEYOND UNDFRMININGANO A.C. PAVED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
<br />PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
<br />16. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE AND DISPOSE OF ALL SURPLUS EXCAVATION MATERIAL AND
<br />DEBRIS PROMPTLY FROM THE SITE AND SHALL MAINTAIN THE SITE IN A NEAT AND ORDERLY
<br />CONDITION.
<br />17, THE LOCATION OF PROPOSED SERVICE LATERALS WILL BE AS DIRECTED IN THE FIELD BY THE
<br />COUNTY'S REPRESENTATIVE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE COUNTY AT LEAST 5 DAYS PRIOR
<br />TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF ANY SEWER SERVICE LATERAL FOR DIRECTION OF HORIZONTAL AND
<br />VERTICAL LATERAL PLACEMENT.
<br />1B. THE LOCATION OF RIGHT OF WAY AND PROPERTY LINES SHOWN ON THESE PLANS IS APPROXIMATE
<br />CHIP AND SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR ANY HORIZONTAL MEASUREMENTS OR REFERENCE BY
