Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement. Repair has been in place for minimum of 18 hours. 3. Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving has been completed. 4. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted, 5. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place unless otherwise noted. 6. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted, The Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. 7. Shoulder Backing material at all intersection radii must receive Penetration Treatment at 0.25 gallon/square yard. At intersections, the limits of the Penetration Treatment work must be confined to intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to the intersection conform. 8. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour prior notice to the County. All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re —testing will be paid by the Contractor. 9. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. 10. Prior to commencing any work, it will be the Contractor's responsibility to have each utility company locate in the field their main service lines and laterals. The Contractor must notify members of the Underground Service Alert (U.S.A.) 48 hours in advance of performing excavation work by calling the toll free number (1—800-642-2444) or 81 1 . 11. Core data is unavailable; however, anticipate varying layers of base and roadway surfacing materials within the sectional planing depth of the existing roadway. 12. Place Monument Frame and Cover at various locations. See Summary of Quantities for locations and quantities. 13. Hand grinding of Roadway Surfacing pavement will be required at locations where existing highway and utility facilities are within the Cold Plane Pavement and Pavement Repair limits. Payment for hand grinding will be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Cold Plane Pavement. 14. The Contractor must place temporary ramps to affected residents' driveways at the end of each working day if a drop off greater than 0.15' exists. Ramp materials must be consistent with that of a roadbed (or roadway) surface that is to be placed upon. Payment for this work will be considered as included in the various items of work involved. 15. The Contractor must obtain an Encroachment Permit from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for all work and signage in their right of way. Payment for this will be considered to be included in the various items of work involved.
