Placement of HMA Overlay must not begin until the HMA used in Pavement. Repair has been in place for minimum of 18 hours. <br />3. Placement of HMA Driveways must not begin until the HMA used for Mainline Paving has been completed. <br />4. Existing highway and utility facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted, <br />5. Existing trees, shrubs, fences, mailboxes and other frontage improvements must remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br />6. Existing drainage facilities must remain in place unless otherwise noted, The Contractor must conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing drainage. <br />7. Shoulder Backing material at all intersection radii must receive Penetration Treatment at 0.25 gallon/square yard. At intersections, the limits of the Penetration Treatment work must be <br />confined to intersection radii plus fifty feet (50') in each direction or to the intersection conform. <br />8. The Contractor will be responsible for adequately scheduling inspection and testing of all facilities constructed under this contract with a minimum 24 hour prior notice to the County. <br />All testing must conform to the Standard Specifications. All re —testing will be paid by the Contractor. <br />9. The Contractor must exercise due caution and carefully preserve survey bench marks, control points, reference points and all survey stakes, and must bear all expenses for <br />replacement and/or errors caused by their unnecessary loss or disturbance. <br />10. Prior to commencing any work, it will be the Contractor's responsibility to have each utility company locate in the field their main service lines and laterals. The Contractor must <br />notify members of the Underground Service Alert (U.S.A.) 48 hours in advance of performing excavation work by calling the toll free number (1—800-642-2444) or 81 1 . <br />11. Core data is unavailable; however, anticipate varying layers of base and roadway surfacing materials within the sectional planing depth of the existing roadway. <br />12. Place Monument Frame and Cover at various locations. See Summary of Quantities for locations and quantities. <br />13. Hand grinding of Roadway Surfacing pavement will be required at locations where existing highway and utility facilities are within the Cold Plane Pavement and Pavement Repair limits. <br />Payment for hand grinding will be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Cold Plane Pavement. <br />14. The Contractor must place temporary ramps to affected residents' driveways at the end of each working day if a drop off greater than 0.15' exists. Ramp materials must be <br />consistent with that of a roadbed (or roadway) surface that is to be placed upon. Payment for this work will be considered as included in the various items of work involved. <br />15. The Contractor must obtain an Encroachment Permit from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for all work and signage in their right of way.
