In The Matter Of Thd Petition For A Public Road By <br />Peter Lindhardt, et al, No. <br />To The Honorable, The Board Of Supervisors, Of The County Of <br />San Joaquin, State Of California. <br />Now come the undersigned residents along the line <br />of said proposed road and file this, their formal protest against <br />the establishment of said road, and respectfully call to the <br />attention of your Honorable Board the following facts: <br />-1- <br />That of the entire number of petitioners signing <br />said petition for the proposed road, more than ninety (90) per <br />cent of said signers would not in any way be benefited by said <br />road, in that it would not shorten the distance to be by them <br />travelled in going from their respective place of residence to <br />the city of Stockton, to French Camp, to Lathrop, or to any <br />county road now in existence. <br />- That there are ninety-one (91) lots in the Summer <br />Home Tract through which said proposed road would be run and every <br />one of said lots has already a frontage on a present laid out <br />and accepted county road. That there are only ten (10) lots which <br />do not have direct communication on a straight line with two <br />main county roads, to wit, what is known as the Salmon road, and <br />what is known as the Austin road, and that these to±s have direct <br />out -let to the Austin road. <br />- 3- <br />That said proposed road will do much more damage <br />than is estimated by the appraisers appointed by this Board in <br />this, that the appraisers have reckoned only the present direct <br />damage, whereas, a great portion along the line of said proposed <br />road is planted, or is about to be planted to fruit trees, vines, <br />and alfalfa, and if said road is put through, said land will <br />13 <br />
