<br />sworn, deposes and says: That at all times hereinafter mentioned ...... he
<br />was a citizen of the United States, over the age of eighteen years, and a
<br />resident of said county, and was at and during all said times the principal
<br />clerk of the printer and publisher of THE DAILY REPORT, a daily news-
<br />paper of general circulation printed and published daily, Sundays and holi-
<br />days excepted, in the City of Stockton, in said County of San Joaquin,
<br />State of California; that said THE DAILY REPORT is and was at all
<br />times herein mentioned, a newspaper of general circulation as that term
<br />is defined by Section 4460 of the Political Code, and, as provided by said
<br />section, is published for the dissemination of local and telegraphic news
<br />and intelligence of a general character, having a bona fide subscription
<br />list of paying subscribers, and is not devoted to the interest, or published
<br />for the entertainment or instruction of a particular class, profession, trade,
<br />calling, race or denomination, or for the entertainment and instruction
<br />of any number of such classes, professions, trades, callings, races or
<br />denominations; that at all said times said newspaper had been established,
<br />printed and published in the said City of Stockton, in said County and
<br />State, at regular intervals for more than one year preceding the first
<br />publication of the notice herein mentioned; that said notice was set in
<br />type not smaller than nonpareil and was preceded with words printed in
<br />black face type not smaller than nonpareil, describing and expressing in
<br />general terms, the purport and character of ' the notice intended to be

<br />No. 1, San Joaquin County, State of
<br />California, and to all other persons
<br />to whom it may concern.
<br />YOU. AND EACH OF YOU, ARE
<br />HEREBY NOTIFIED AND IN-
<br />FORMED.
<br />` That there has been filed with the
<br />Board, of Supervisors of the County.of
<br />San Joaquin, State, of California, a
<br />Resolution of Intention to abandon a ;
<br />portion of the W. R. Jacobs Road No. P
<br />338, described as follows, to -wit:
<br />Beginning at an iron pipe set for j
<br />the center of Section 8, T. 1 N., R.
<br />6 E., M. D. B. & M., said point
<br />being on the northerly line of the
<br />W R. Jacobs Road No. 338, and '
<br />running thence N.: 89° 51' W. along
<br />the northerly line of said road a dis-
<br />tance of 259.74 feet to a point; thence
<br />crossing said road S. 651 47' 18" E.
<br />a distance of 147.16 feet to a point
<br />on the southerly line of said road;
<br />thence S. 89' 51' E. along the south-
<br />erly line of said road a distanca
<br />of976.87 feet to a point; thence S.

<br />56; E. a distance of 165.00 feet,
<br />more or less, to a point on the west-
<br />erly bank of'the San Joaquin River;
<br />thence northeasterly along said west-
<br />erly bank, of the San Joaquin -River
<br />a distance, of 60.00 feet, more or j
<br />less, to a point on the northerly line I
<br />of said W. R. Jacobs Road; thence
<br />N. 64° 56' W. to a point on the
<br />I southerly line of the N. E. 1/q, of said
<br />Section 8; thence N. 89° 51' W.
<br />along the southerly line of said N. E.
<br />vs of Section 8, and being along the
<br />inortherly line of said W. R. Jacobs
<br />Road No. 338, a distance of 851.50
<br />feet, more or less, to the point of
<br />beginning.
<br />Containing 1.67 acres, more or less.
<br />That said Resolution of Intention to
<br />abandon a portion of W. R. Jacobs
<br />Road No. 338, has been passed and
<br />iadopted.
<br />That said Board of Supervisors has
<br />fixed the 14th day of August, 1944, at
<br />the hour of 10:00 o'clock A. M. on said
<br />day at the regular place of sitting of
<br />this Board, on the second floor of the
<br />County Courthouse of the 'County of
<br />San Joaquin. State of California, in
<br />the City of Stockton.
<br />That said petition will be heard by
<br />said Board of Supervisors on said day
<br />at said time and at said place, when
<br />and where all persons interested for or
<br />against skid Resolution of Intention to
<br />abandon a portion of W. R. Jacobs
<br />Road No. 338, may be heard.
