ki 4 4 1 8 h 4k {a00W <br />SPECIAL INSTRUIMT <br />WHEREAS, By Section 9 of an Act of Congress approved March 3, 189% <br />entitled "An Act making appropriations for the construction, repair, and <br />preservation of certain public works on rivers and harbors, and for <br />other purposes," it is provided that when plans for any bridge or other <br />structure have been approved by the Chief of Engineers and by the Secre- <br />tary of War, it shall not be lawful to deviate from such plans either <br />before or after completion of the structure unless the modification of <br />said plans has previously been submitted to and received the approval <br />of the Chief of Engineers and of the Secretary of War; <br />AND TEERE'.AS By an instrument signed on December 28, 1938, and <br />December 30, 193A, the Chief of Engineers and the Assistant Secretary <br />of War approved the location and plans of a bridge to be constructed <br />by the Board of Supervisors of San Toaquin County, California,'across <br />San Toaquin River, west of Stockton, California, under authority of <br />State law; <br />AND MMREAS, By an instrument signed on February 7, 1940, and <br />February 9, 1940, the Acting Chief of Engineers and the Assistant <br />Secretary -of War, extended the times for commencing and completing <br />said construction to December 30, 1940, and December 30, 1942; <br />AND WHEREAS, The said BOARD OF ziuvt�aviSORS OF SAN TOAQU1N-,C0UNTY <br />has submitted modified plans for the construction of said bridge, which <br />plans are hereto attached; <br />NOW THIIWORE, This is to certify that said attached plans are <br />hereby approved, all conditions of the previous instrument of approval <br />remaining unchanged. <br />WMMS my hand this _._. 18th — day of ^ May , 1940 • <br />19 MWS my hand this _ <br />�iwuv�n�a <br />THOMAS M.
