The diver could locate by probing approximately half of the footing on the Span 9 side under 6 <br />in. of sand. The scour defect is applied in condition state 2 to the 17 ft of exposed and minimally covered pile cap at Pier 10. 17 ft (5 <br />m) in CS 2. <br />Notes from the 9/1/2015 UWI: The pile element is included to indicate the presence of piles on this structure. The piles of Piers 8, 9, <br />or 10 were not exposed for visual inspection. No indication of pile distress was noted in any substructure element of those piers.
