These patches appear to be covering or
partially covering construction rock pockets and do not warrant a defect. See Photo 4. The abutment quantity includes the
monolithic wingwalls.
There is a one and a half foot diameter partially patched spall and one exposed rebar without section loss on the face of Abutment 4
near the left side. This condition has not changed since the 01/03/2020 routine inspection (BIR Photo 5).
Non-Routine Inspection Element Notes:
Non-Routine Inspection Element Notes:
Underwater (07/12/2021): Aside from the abrasion noted below under Defect 1190, no other defects were noted for Pier 3.
Underwater (07/12/2021): There was abrasion of the concrete that has exposed course aggregate, extending from the waterline to
approximately 4 feet above the waterline on Pier 3. The exposed aggregate remains secure to the concrete. The full length of Pier 3,
5 meters, will be placed in CS2.
Previously reported but not observed this inspection:
There is a six inch diameter spall in the diaphragm at Pier 3 adjacent to Girder 5. Two reinforcing bars are exposed.
The bearing element is included to indicate the presence of enclosed bearings on this structure. The bearings were not exposed for
visual inspection. No indication of bearing distress was noted in any superstructure element.
