<br />Control cables connected with the operation of the State Water Project are buried on both sides of the
<br />aqueduct within the Department of Water Resources' right of way. The Contractor shall contact :4
<br />Underground Service Alert (USA) at 1-800-642-2444 (Northern California), and MCI Telecommunications
<br />ti �'' ,;;• i ``} Corporation at 1-800-624-9675 for information regarding the location of these cables.
<br />Prior to any excavation in this area, the cables shall be located in the presence of a DWR
<br />Delta Field Division Inspector (Call (209) 835-7106 for appointment) by using hand held tools and

<br />their locations and elevations shall be shown on the drawings. Measures shall be taken by the Contractor
<br />to protect the cables in place.
