They get <br />inspected as part of the underwater investigation done by divers. The Abutments were out of the water and dry. The deck was inspected <br />by walking on the bridge deck. The underside of the deck, superstructure, and non-submerged substructure were inspected from the <br />ground under the bridge. A complete routine bridge inspection was performed. <br />An Underwater Investigation was performed by the Caltrans Underwater Team on 09/02/2020 and follows the procedures of Section 5.4 <br />of the SM&I Inspection Procedures Manual. All elements listed in the "Underwater Elements Investigated" section of the report were <br />inspected. For more information, see the 09/02/2020 inspection report or the relevant elements in the element table. No defects were <br />observed during is investigation. <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br />Photographs were taken during this inspection to replace the: Routine-Roadway View, Routine-Elevation View, and the Routine- <br />Underside View. The Routine-Map View was also updated. Refer to Photos 1 through 4. <br /> <br />DECK AND ROADWAY <br />The AC approach at Abutment 1 has several 0.1 inch wide transverse cracks and has settled 0.5 inches. The Abutment 4 AC approach <br />right shoulder has a 0.5 inch wide crack that occupies a 5 foot x 5 foot area. Refer to Photos 5 through 8. <br />WATERWAY <br />There is log that caught onto the right (upstream) side of Pier 2.
