In a few places, this
condition has progressed to large, shallow spalls, exposing the large aggregate. The aggregate appears sound. (See Photo 5). There
is an outstanding work recommendation to clean the sediment out of the spans and test the soil for corrosive conditions.
There is heavy efflorescence build up in the bottom half of Abutments 1, 5 and Pier 3 along the soil line. (See Photos 7 and 8). This
condition has been previously reported and Abutment 1 and Pier 3 were added.
There is a full-height vertical crack up to 0.13 inches wide with edge spalling in the left side of Abutment 5. Extending from this crack
are full width discontinuous horizontal cracks up to 0.02 inches wide and spaced at 4 feet apart into Abutment 5. (See Photo 9). This
condition has been previously reported and no significant changes were noted.
The abutments and Pier Walls 2, 3 and 4 have full height vertical cracks up to 0.02 inches wide and spaced as close as 4 feet on
center. (See Photo 10). This condition has been previously reported and no significant changes were noted.
