Printed on:Tuesday 05/27/2025 04:20 PM 29C0258/AAAS/149218Pageof4
Department of Transportation - Division of Maintenance Structure Maintenance & Investigations
8
UNDERWATER INVESTIGATION DETAILS
STEEL INVESTIGATION DETAILS
SCOPE AND ACCESS
The bridge elements were inspected by walking on and around the structure. At the time of this inspection, there was approximately 5
feet of water flowing under Spans 10 to 12. Abutments and piers were dry except Piers 11 and 12. Piers 11 and 12 were partially
submerged in approximately 5 feet of water and were inspected by the Underwater Inspection team. This routine inspection was limited
to the deck, soffit, and columns above the water line that could be seen from the river banks. A complete routine inspection was
performed on all visible elements.
This structure is currently in the SM&I Underwater inventory for inspecting substructure elements submerged in deep water on 60 month
cycle. The last Underwater Inspection (UWI) was performed on 07/12/2021. Refer to the 07/12/2021 UWI report for details.
SAFE LOAD CAPACITY
The load rating for this structure is being reviewed by SM&I Load Ratings Branch under Work Request 12210. An updated Load Rating
Summary will be archived when this review is complete. The current rating is based on BDS computer output dated 04/21/1980.
INSPECTION COMMENTARY
TYPE OF MEMBRANE
TYPE OF DECK PROTECTION
DECK STRUCTURE TYPE
TYPE OF WEARING SURFACE
WEARING SURFACE / PROTECTIVE SYSTEM
1205AVERAGE DAILY TRAFFIC
2017 YEAR OF ADT
16 KMBYPASS, DETOUR LENGTH
12 %(109) TRUCK ADT %
927FUTURE ADT
2045YEAR OF FUTURE ADT
HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE 5: NOT ELIGIBLE FOR NRHP
0-NONE
0-NONE
0-NONE
1-CIP CONCRETE
DECK STRUCTURE INFORMATION
8.7 M
8.5 M
DECK AND ROADWAY
LANES 2
55
0-NOT ON NHS
PARALLEL STRUCTURE
TEMPORARY STRUCTURE
DEFENSE HIGHWAY
FUNCTIONAL CLASS
SPEED
NATIONAL HIGHWAY SYSTEM
TOLL
DIRECTION OF TRAFFIC
DESIGNATED NATIONAL NETWORK
TYPE OF SERVICE
FEDERAL LANDS HWY
8 EQUAL DESIRABLE CRITAPPR ROADWAY ALIGN
5 ABOVE TOLERABLEDECK GEOMETRY
7.9 MAPPROACH RDWY WIDTH
BRIDGE MEDIAN
LEFT 0.0 M RIGHT 0.0 MCURB OR SIDEWALK
TOTAL WIDTH
NET WIDTH
8.5 MINVENTORY ROUTE TOTAL HORIZ CLEAR
99.99 MINVENTORY ROUTE MIN VERT CLEAR
3-ON FREE ROAD
08-MINOR COLLECTOR RURAL
0-NOT STRAHNET
N-NONE EXISTS
2-2 WAY
0-NOT APPLICABLE
0-NOT ON NET
0 NO MEDIAN
1-HIGHWAY
DECK ROADWAY/OPERATIONAL INFORMATIONDECK GEOMETRY
0.3 ft br, 28.0 ft, 0.3 ft br
DECK CROSS SECTION
LRS INVENTORY RTE & SUBRTE
BASE HIGHWAY NETWORK 0-NOT ON NET
1 - FreshWater TypeB - Routine UWDive Type
Next UWI 07/12/2026UWI Frequency months 60UWI Required Y Last UWI 07/12/2021
- NOT APPLICABLE FOR THIS BRIDGE.
0 inchesOVERLAY THICKNESS (inches)
N/A
(51)
(52)
(50)
(32)
(33)
(107)
(108)
A)
B)
C)
(29)
(30)
(19)
(114)
(115)
(37)
(42a)
(12)
(13)
(104)
(26)
(100)
(101)
(102)
(10)
(47)
(68)
(72)
(105)
(110)
(20)
(28a)
(103)
CONDITION INFORMATION
205.6 MLENGTH (49)
Element DescriptionElem
No.
Env Total
Qty
Units
CS 1 CS 2 CS 3 CS 4
Qty in each Condition State
16 Top Flange-RC
Exposed Rebar (PS Conc./RC)
2
2
372
2
sq.m
each
370
0
2
2
0
0
0
0
DECK ELEMENT INSPECTION RATINGS AND NOTES
Defect/
Prot
1090
Defect
(58) 7DECK RATING =
SPECIAL INSPECTION INFORMATION
