The timber is in good condition underneath the charred <br />outer surface. <br />The timber abutment bulkheads have a few up to 0.1 inch wide by 3 feet long checks at random locations. <br />The pile element is included to indicate the presence of piles on this structure. The piles were not exposed for visual inspection. No <br />indication of pile distress was noted in any substructure element. <br />The right half of the Abutment 1 cap is charred on the outer 0.25 inch. The timber is in good condition underneath the charred outer <br />surface. <br />A foot of the bent cap ends are decayed but supports no load in Bents 6, 7, 8, 11 and 13. Refer to 2018 BIR photo numbers 4 to 6. <br />The timber caps have a few up to 0.1 inch wide by 3 feet long checks at random locations. <br />There is ungrouted rock slope protection at both abutments. There were no significant defects noted. <br />Non-Routine Inspection Element Notes: <br />Non-Routine Inspection Element Notes: <br />Underwater (05/04/2023): The scour defect is applied in CS 2 to all Columns of Bents 4-9 due to unbraced columns lengths between <br />14 and 17 feet. This remains largely unchanged since the previous underwater inspection conducted 05/08/2018. <br />Underwater Inspection(05/04/2023): There were no significant defects noted.
