The area around the spall is <br />covered in soot but appears sound. (See Photo 5). This condition has been previously reported and no significant changes were <br />noted. <br />The pile element is included to indicate the presence of piles on this structure. The piles were not exposed for visual inspection. No <br />indication of pile distress was noted in any substructure element. <br />The slope protection at Abutment 1 is deteriorating. The boulders are missing and slumping down the slope. (See Photo 3 dated <br />09/15/2020).
