The abutments were
outside of the water. The inspection was limited to the deck and portions of the superstructure and substructure above the water line and
portions of the bridge visible from the canal banks. A return visit will be scheduled when the canal is dewatered.
The submerged portions of Piers 2 and 3 were inspected by the Caltrans Underwater Inspection Team. The most recent underwater
investigation was performed on 05/28/2020. All identified defects from that inspection have been incorporated into the condition states of
the respective elements and have been described in the element or defect notes. Refer to the 05/28/2020 underwater inspection report
for further detail.
DECK AND ROADWAY
There are potholes up to 12 inches in diameter x 2 inches deep in the AC approach at Abutment 1 in the northbound and southbound
lanes. (See Photo 1). There is a similar but less severe condition at Abutment 4. See Photo 2.
INSPECTION COMMENTARY
TYPE OF MEMBRANE
TYPE OF DECK PROTECTION
DECK STRUCTURE TYPE
TYPE OF WEARING SURFACE
WEARING SURFACE / PROTECTIVE SYSTEM
400AVERAGE DAILY TRAFFIC
2013 YEAR OF ADT
14 KMBYPASS, DETOUR LENGTH
1 %(109) TRUCK ADT %
341FUTURE ADT
2040 YEAR OF FUTURE ADT
HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE 4: HIST SIGN NOT DETERMI
6-BITUMINOUS
0-NONE
0-NONE
1-CIP CONCRETE
DECK STRUCTURE INFORMATION
7.5 M
6.1 M
DECK AND ROADWAY
LANES 2
55
0-NOT ON NHS
PARALLEL STRUCTURE
TEMPORARY STRUCTURE
DEFENSE HIGHWAY
FUNCTIONAL CLASS
SPEED
NATIONAL HIGHWAY SYSTEM
TOLL
DIRECTION OF TRAFFIC
DESIGNATED NATIONAL NETWORK
TYPE OF SERVICE
FEDERAL LANDS HWY
3 INTOLERABLE - CORRECTAPPR ROADWAY ALIGN
4 TOLERABLEDECK GEOMETRY
6.1 MAPPROACH RDWY WIDTH
BRIDGE MEDIAN
LEFT 0.7 M RIGHT 0.7 MCURB OR SIDEWALK
TOTAL WIDTH
NET WIDTH
6.1 MINVENTORY ROUTE TOTAL HORIZ CLEAR
99.99 MINVENTORY ROUTE MIN VERT CLEAR
3-ON FREE ROAD
09-LOCAL RURAL
0-NOT STRAHNET
N-NONE EXISTS
2-2 WAY
0-NOT APPLICABLE
0-NOT ON NET
0 NO MEDIAN
1-HIGHWAY
DECK ROADWAY/OPERATIONAL INFORMATIONDECK GEOMETRY
2.3 ft br & cu, 20.0 ft, 2.3 ft cu & br
DECK CROSS SECTION
LRS INVENTORY RTE & SUBRTE
BASE HIGHWAY NETWORK 0-NOT ON NET
1 - FreshWater TypeB - Routine UWDive Type
Next UWI 05/28/2026UWI Frequency months 72UWI Required Y Last UWI 05/28/2020
- NOT APPLICABLE FOR THIS BRIDGE.
.3 inchesOVERLAY THICKNESS (inches)
N/A
(51)
(52)
(50)
(32)
(33)
(107)
(108)
A)
B)
C)
(29)
(30)
(19)
(114)
(115)
(37)
(42a)
(12)
(13)
(104)
(26)
(100)
(101)
(102)
(10)
(47)
(68)
(72)
(105)
(110)
(20)
(28a)
(103)
CONDITION INFORMATION
31.9 MLENGTH (49)
Element DescriptionElem
No.
Env Total
Qty
Units
CS 1 CS 2 CS 3 CS 4
Qty in each Condition State
16 Top Flange-RC
Delamination/Spall/Patched Area
2
2
239
21
sq.m
each
94
0
124
0
21
21
0
0
DECK ELEMENT INSPECTION RATINGS AND NOTES
Defect/
Prot
1080
Defect
(58) 5DECK RATING =
SPECIAL INSPECTION INFORMATION
