The abutments were outside of the concrete lining
and the superstructure and soffit of Spans 1 and 3 were inspected from the canal banks with the aid of binoculars. The soffit of Span 2
was visually observed from the deck with the use of truck mirrors.
The submerged portions of Piers 2 and 3 were inspected by the Caltrans Underwater Inspection Team. The most recent underwater
investigation was performed on 02/13/2018. All identified defects from that inspection have been incorporated into the condition states of
the respective elements and have been described in the element or defect notes. Refer to the 02/13/2018 underwater inspection report
for further detail.
MISCELLANEOUS
A new routine map view photo was added during this investigation. See Photo 1.
DECK AND ROADWAY
The AC approach pavement near each abutment is cracked, beginning to pothole and heaving up to 2 inches near the deck surface. The
10/30/2000 work recommendation to repair and resurface the AC approach pavement near each abutment is still valid and should be
completed to prevent vehicle impact onto the bridge deck. See Photos 2 and 3.
INSPECTION COMMENTARY
TYPE OF MEMBRANE
TYPE OF DECK PROTECTION
DECK STRUCTURE TYPE
TYPE OF WEARING SURFACE
WEARING SURFACE / PROTECTIVE SYSTEM
1589AVERAGE DAILY TRAFFIC
2002 YEAR OF ADT
13 KMBYPASS, DETOUR LENGTH
5 %(109) TRUCK ADT %
2173FUTURE ADT
2040 YEAR OF FUTURE ADT
HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE 5: NOT ELIGIBLE FOR NRHP
0-NONE
0-NONE
0-NONE
1-CIP CONCRETE
DECK STRUCTURE INFORMATION
10.4 M
9.8 M
DECK AND ROADWAY
LANES 2
55
0-NOT ON NHS
PARALLEL STRUCTURE
TEMPORARY STRUCTURE
DEFENSE HIGHWAY
FUNCTIONAL CLASS
SPEED
NATIONAL HIGHWAY SYSTEM
TOLL
DIRECTION OF TRAFFIC
DESIGNATED NATIONAL NETWORK
TYPE OF SERVICE
FEDERAL LANDS HWY
8 EQUAL DESIRABLE CRITAPPR ROADWAY ALIGN
5 ABOVE TOLERABLEDECK GEOMETRY
9.8 MAPPROACH RDWY WIDTH
BRIDGE MEDIAN
LEFT 0.3 M RIGHT 0.3 MCURB OR SIDEWALK
TOTAL WIDTH
NET WIDTH
9.8 MINVENTORY ROUTE TOTAL HORIZ CLEAR
99.99 MINVENTORY ROUTE MIN VERT CLEAR
3-ON FREE ROAD
07-MAJOR COLLECTOR RURAL
0-NOT STRAHNET
N-NONE EXISTS
2-2 WAY
0-NOT APPLICABLE
0-NOT ON NET
0 NO MEDIAN
1-HIGHWAY
DECK ROADWAY/OPERATIONAL INFORMATIONDECK GEOMETRY
1 ft cu & br, 32 ft, 1 ft cu & br
DECK CROSS SECTION
LRS INVENTORY RTE & SUBRTE
BASE HIGHWAY NETWORK 0-NOT ON NET
1 - FreshWater TypeB - Routine UWDive Type
Next UWI 02/13/2024UWI Frequency months 72UWI Required Y Last UWI 02/13/2018
- NOT APPLICABLE FOR THIS BRIDGE.
0 inchesOVERLAY THICKNESS (inches)
N/A
(51)
(52)
(50)
(32)
(33)
(107)
(108)
A)
B)
C)
(29)
(30)
(19)
(114)
(115)
(37)
(42a)
(12)
(13)
(104)
(26)
(100)
(101)
(102)
(10)
(47)
(68)
(72)
(105)
(110)
(20)
(28a)
(103)
CONDITION INFORMATION
63.7 MLENGTH (49)
DECK ELEMENT INSPECTION RATINGS AND NOTES (58) DECK RATING =
SPECIAL INSPECTION INFORMATION
