There are soffit cracks up to 0.05 inches wide that
extend diagonally from the abutments about 20 feet with rust stains beginning from the face of both abutments. See photo 10.
There are 0.05 to 0.1 inch wide by 20 feet long longitudinal and diagonal deck cracks spaced at approximately 3 feet apart in the
northbound and southbound lanes beginning from both abutments. These cracks were filled with Methacrylate in 2015 but the cracks
appear to be active again. Refer to photo number 2.
There are sealed 0.04 to 0.07 inch wide by 8 feet long transverse and 0.05 inch wide pattern deck cracks over Bent 2. Refer to photo
number 3.
The deck was treated with methacrylate in 2015.
The increased cracking and efflorescense seen in the soffit indicate the Methacrylate is not effective in a portion of the deck.
(58) (5)DECK RATING =
(36a) Rail Code 0010
331 Railing-RC
Cracking (RC and Other)
2
2
48
16
m
each
32
0
16
16
0
0
0
0
JOINT/APPROACH/RAIL ELEMENT INSPECTION RATINGS AND NOTES
1130
RAIL INFORMATION
(36b) Transition (36c) Appr Guardrail (36d) Appr Guardrail End 35Roadway Speed MPH
JOINT - APPROACH - RAIL
(331-1130) Cracking (RC and Other)
Element DescriptionElem
No.
Env Total
Qty
Units
CS 1 CS 2 CS 3 CS 4
Qty in each Condition StateDefect/
Prot Defect
There are hairline to 0.03 inch wide vertical cracks in the bridge railings and transverse cracks in the sidewalks.
