Coarse aggregate is visible throughout the abutments. The majority
of the aggregate appeared to be sound but rock pockets have formed that are typically up to 6 inch in diameter but are more severe
at the corners of the bridge and vertical construction joints.
This condition continues to progress. See Photo 9 from the 01/2025 report and Photos 17 through 26 from the 02/2019 report.
The roadway runoff erosion issue at the right side of Abutment 4 has been mitigated. See Photos 10 and 11 from the 01/2025 report.
The concrete lining at the corners of the abutments on the embankments and in the channel of the widened portions of the
abutments remains effective however along the original portions of the abutments the lining is mostly gone and essentially ineffective.
See Photos 12 and 13 from the 01/2025 report.
