Printed on:Wednesday 05/07/2025 08:05 AM 29C0022/AABH/152630Pageof4 <br />Department of Transportation - Division of Maintenance Structure Maintenance & Investigations <br />19 <br />UNDERWATER INVESTIGATION DETAILS <br />STEEL INVESTIGATION DETAILS <br />This structure qualifies for an in-depth Steel investigation because it possesses the following non-redundant steel tension members <br />(NSTM) or fatigue prone details : <br />NSTMI Required NSTMI Freq.Next NSTM InspectionYes24 04/26/2025 <br />Floor Beams: NSTM with Out-of-plane Bending, <br />Girder (Built-Up): NSTM with Out-of-plane Bending <br />SCOPE AND ACCESS <br />The deck, slab, joints, approaches, rails, end span soffit areas, abutments, and Bent 2 and 13 columns were inspected on 02/10/2025 <br />without access issues. The remaining underside elements above the water line were inspected on 04/03/2025 with the use of a UAS <br />(Unmanned Aircraft System). A complete routine inspection was performed. <br />A non-redundant steel tension member (NSTM) inspection was performed on 04/26/2023 and 05/03/2023 by Rasool Gul from the Office <br />of Specialty Investigations. The investigation was conducted in accordance with the Fracture Critical Member Inspection Plan, dated <br />04/05/2007. For details of the defects and work recommendations see the report dated 04/26/2023. <br />An underwater inspection was performed on 11/09/2020 by the dive team. For details of defects and work recommendations see the <br />report dated 11/09/2020. <br />A mechanical and electrical inspection was performed on 05/08/2023. For details of defects and work recommendations see the report <br />dated 05/08/2023. <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br />According to Gary Griffith with San Joaquin County Public Works the bridge is opened approximately 1 - 3 times per year since 2011 for <br />maintenance operations and inspections. Moving forward they will be keeping a record of all bridge openings. <br />WATERWAY <br />A Bridge Scour Evaluation - Plan of Action dated 8/12/2010 is on file.
