There were no significant defects noted.
The pile element is included to indicate the presence of piles on this structure. The piles were not exposed for visual inspection. No
indication of pile distress was noted in any substructure element.
There were no significant defects noted.
The pile element is included to indicate the presence of piles on this structure. This is still considered CS 1 at this time. Minor column cracks were noted throughout the
structure above the high water level. These cracks were not quantified since the above water portion is the responsibility of the
routine inspection.
Underwater Inspection(08/20/2024): There is a hairline crack on face 4 of Bent 25 Column 5. The crack extends from the waterline up
to 6 feet above the waterline. (Added 1 ea to CS2)
Underwater Inspection(08/20/2024): The structure plans indicate all steel column elements are cast-in-place RC columns with a
permanent steel form. It is assumed that deterioration of the form will not affect the strength of the element. This element accounts
for the 4 columns each at Bents 6, 11 and 16, 11 each at Piers 21 and 23, and 12 each at Pier 22 for a total of 46. At this time there
is minimal section loss in the steel shells and the RC is not visible for inspection. All columns are in CS 1.
Underwater Inspection(08/20/2024): There were no significant defects noted.
600 Support System - Structural 2 1 ea. 1 0 0 0
MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL ELEMENT INSPECTION RATINGS AND NOTES
MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL
(600) Support System - Structural
Element DescriptionElem
No.
Env Total
Qty
Units
CS 1 CS 2 CS 3 CS 4
Qty in each Condition StateDefect/
Prot Defect
Non-Routine Inspection Element Notes:
The structural support system consists of the end jacks, bearing and live load shoes, centering locks at each end of the bridge, and
center wedges at the pivot pier.
