It is intended to-assist members of the public, private contLractom, <br /> employees of-the Department of Public Works, and airy other paries trenching in San Joaquin <br /> County. <br /> 39'10.1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br /> A- Resurfacing requirements specked in u`tispolicy are in addition to use trench <br /> resurfacing requirements specliied by San Joaquin County Standard Drawing R- <br /> 29. <br /> B. Forthe purpose ofthis polrcY, 'Surfac.'inla-AQe'is canned as the age_oi_the_rn.os <br /> recently completed roadway surfacing-,including construejon, reconsiruciion-, or <br /> Major overlay.._ <br /> C. Where the application of seal coats is required, a Type-If Slurry Seal veil[be used <br /> in accordance with State Standard Specifications,Section 37-2. <br /> D. The penmi tae must post a one-year maintenance bond or cash deposit; in an <br /> amount specified by the-Depai tment. <br /> E. All pavement markings destroyed orobliterated-Must be-replaced in kirid-by the <br /> permittee. Typical-.pavement markings include, but are not limited to, lane lines, <br /> -centerlines-, stop and stop ahead legends, limit lines,-raised pavement markers, <br /> -and.miscellaneous delineators. <br /> F. The.permitiee is responsible for Survey-Monuments disturbed by trenching and is <br /> required to file a comer record and to reestablish them using a Licensed Land <br /> Surveyor after the trench restoration is completed. <br /> G. Functional classncaii.on maps'and Public Works Project Advertising Schedules <br /> are references for this policy. <br /> H. To facilitate scheduling and planning, Public Works stalt V41 make available the <br /> most current Project Advertising Schedule at the monthly Utit y Goordiriation <br /> Mesung and make'lit available to the public, at the Pen-nits Counter,in January <br /> each year. <br /> 3910-2 . COLLECTORS, ARTERIALS AND EXPRESSWAYS <br /> A. Surfacing Age Less than Three-(3)Years: ND-pavement Ctrs. Exceptions may be <br /> approved in accordance wti l SactIDn-3910.4 EX-C-EPTIONS. <br /> B. Surfacing Age Three (3) Years and Ctver. <br /> 1. LDngitudinaI Trench Cutmdng in Paved Shoulder Areas: <br /> T he enure shoulder of rhe-road is to be resurfaced. The e)dstsng surfacing <br /> adjacent to the trenched area shall be pianed-to acr{Dmmodate the overlay <br /> in a manner that does not causs drainage mncems. The nearest <br /> pavement cut shall be a minimum I-- . (3) feet from the edge of <br /> pavement, or the remaining pavement shall also be removed and <br /> replaced.
