It is intended to assist mernbers of the public, private contuactors <br /> employees of1-he Department of Public Works, and arty oilier panes t-enching in San Joaquin <br /> County_ <br /> 3910.1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br /> A. Resurfacing requirements specned in u`rispolicy are in addition to the tench <br /> resurfacing requirements sped ped by San Joaquin County Standard Drawing R- <br /> 29, <br /> B. For the purpose of this pDlicy, 'Surfacing-Age'is defined as the age ofhe most <br /> recently completed roadway surfacing-,including vonstucto-n, reconstructon., or <br /> major overlay. <br /> C. Where the application of.seal coats is required, a Type-If Slurry Seal will be used <br /> in accordance e�h State Standard SpecinGauons,Section 37-2. <br /> D. The permittee must post a one-year maintenance bond or cash deposit, in an <br /> amount specified by rte-Department <br /> E. All pavement markings destroyed or obliterated-rnust be-replaced in kind-by the <br /> parniLLee. Typical-pavement markings include, but are not limited to, lane lines, <br /> -centerlines-, stop and stop ahead Iegends,limit lines,-raised pavement markers, <br /> -and.miscellaneous delineators. <br /> F. The.permittee is responsible for Survey-Monuments disturbed by-trenching and is <br /> required to file a comer record and to reestablish them using a Licensed Land <br /> Surveyor after the wench restoration is completed. <br /> G. Functional classification maps'-and Public Works Project Advertising Schedules <br /> are references for fibs policy. <br /> H. To facilitate scheduling and planning, Public Works staff will make available the <br /> most current Project Advertising Schedule at the monthly Utility Goordiriatiorl <br /> _ Meeting and make it available to the public, at the Permits Counter, in January <br /> each year. <br /> 3910-2. COLLECTORS, AR TERIALS AND EXPRESSWAYS <br /> A. Surfacing Age less than Three-(3)Years: No-pavement cuts. Exceptions may be <br /> approved in accordance witi Section 391 DA EXCEPTIONS. <br /> B. Surfacing Age Three (3)Years and Over; <br /> 1. Longitudinal Trench ung in Paved Shoulder Areas:' <br /> The enure shoulder of the-road is to be resurfaced. The eAsting surfacing <br /> adjacent to the trenched area s.haIl be planed-to actrDmmodate the overlay <br /> in a manner that does not cause drainage concems. The nearest <br /> pavement cut shall be a minimum of u[rae(3) feet from the edge of <br /> pavement, or the remaining pavement stn-all also be removed and <br /> replaced.
