It is intended to-assist members of the public, private contractors, <br /> employe--,s of-the Department of Public Works, and any other paries trenching in San Joaquin <br /> County. <br /> )4..,3910.1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br /> A. Resurfacing requirements specned in this policy are in addition to the trench <br /> resurfacing requirements specifed by San Joaquin County Standard Drawing R- <br /> 29. <br /> _ B. Forthe purpose of This policy, 'Surfacing <br /> -Age'is defined as thB g_a oi-the_M.ost <br /> _— — recently completed roadway surfacing-,including construction, reconstruction., or <br /> major overlay..- <br /> G. Where tha application of seal coats is required, a Type-If Slurry Seal vviIl be used <br /> in accordance with State Standard Specmcauons,Section 37-2. <br /> D. The permittee must post a one-yeas rhaintenance bond or cash deposit in an <br /> amount specifed by the•Deparbnent. <br /> E, All pavement marldngs destroyed or obliterated-i-mistbe-replaced in kind-by the <br /> permiuee. Typical,pavement markings include, but are not limited to, (aria lines, <br /> -centerlines, stop and stop ahead legends, limit lines,-raised pavement markers, <br /> -and miscellaneous delineators. <br /> F. The.permiiiee is responsible for Survey-Monuments disturbed by-trenching and is <br /> required to flea comer record and to reestablish them using a Licensed Land <br /> Surveyor after the trench restoration is completed. <br /> G, Functional classiftcation maps'and Public Works Project Advertising Schedules <br /> are references for this policy. <br /> H. To facilitate scheduling and planning, Public Works staff will make available the <br /> most current Project Advertising Schedule at the monthly Utility Goordiriafoti <br /> _ Meeting and make it available to the public, at the Permits Counter,in January <br /> each year. <br /> 3910-2 COLLECTORS, ARTERIALS AND EXPRESSWAYS <br /> A. Surfacing Age less than Three-(3)Years: No-pavement cuts. Exceptions may be <br /> approved in accordance with Section 3910.4 EX•CEP T IONS. <br /> B. Surfacing Age Three (3)Years and Over. <br /> 1. Longitudinal Trench CLing in Paved Shoulder Areas: <br /> The enure shoulder of the-raad is to be resurfaced. The e)dsfirlg surfacing <br /> adjacant to the trenched area shall be planed-to acQommodate the overlay <br /> in a manner that does not cause drainage concems. The nearest <br /> pavement cul shall be a ninimum"of hraa(3) feet from the edge of <br /> pavement, or the remaining palrement shall also be removed and <br /> replaced.
