BEFORE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> R-07 544 <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF CERTAIN STREETS <br /> IN THE TOWN OF THORNTON FOR PARADES AND SPECIAL SERVICES <br /> WHEREAS, the Our Lady of Fatima Society of Thornton, hereinafter referred to as <br /> APPLICANT, has applied for permission to temporarily close to traffic certain streets in the Town <br /> of Thornton for a time period as follows: <br /> 1. On Saturday morning, Sacramento Boulevard between Pine Street and the southern <br /> terminous of Sacramento Boulevard; Oak Street between Sacramento Boulevard <br /> and Louisa Avenue; Louisa Avenue between Oak Street and Stockton Street; <br /> Stockton Street between Louisa Avenue and Thornton Road; Thornton Road <br /> between Stockton Street and the southern terminous of Sacramento Boulevard; and <br /> Alice Avenue between Oak Street and Louisa Avenue on October 13, 2007 between <br /> the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. <br /> 2. On Saturday evening, Sacramento Boulevard between Pine Street and the southern <br /> terminous of Sacramento Boulevard; Oak Street between Sacramento Boulevard <br /> and Louisa Avenue; Louisa Avenue between Oak Street and Stockton Street; <br /> Stockton Street between Louisa Avenue and Thornton Road; Thornton Road <br /> between Stockton Street and the southern terminous of Sacramento Boulevard; and <br /> Alice Avenue between Oak Street and Louisa Avenue on October 13, 2007, between <br /> the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. <br /> 3. On Sunday morning, Sacramento Boulevard between Thornton Road and <br /> Pine Street; Thornton Road between the southern terminous of Sacramento <br /> Boulevard and Mokelumne Avenue; and Thornton Road between Mokelumne Avenue <br /> and Sacramento Boulevard on October 14, 2007, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. <br /> and 2:00 p.m. <br /> 4. Sacramento Boulevard from Pine Street to 350 feet north, on Saturday, <br /> October 13, 2007, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. and again <br /> on Sunday, October 14, 2007, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. <br /> WHEREAS, Our Lady of Fatima Society of Thornton parades and special services are <br /> annual events; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the County of San Joaquin has granted <br /> APPLICANT written permission to use Mokelumne Avenue (a private road) as a route for the <br /> Sunday morning parade event. <br /> WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the APPLICANT will be requesting permission to <br /> temporarily close to traffic certain streets in the Town of Thornton for the parades and special <br /> services in future years. <br />
