FOR A PARADE <br /> SECOND SUPERVISORIAL DISC <br /> Dear Board Members: <br /> r !S RECOMMENDED- <br /> That the Board of Supervisors: <br /> Adopt a Resolution approving temporary closure of Benjamin Holt Drive, between <br /> Leesburg Place and Harrisburg Place, for a parade on the first Saturday of May <br /> and the third Saturday of November. <br /> ?. Authorize and direct the Chairman of the Board to sign the Resolution approving <br /> temporary closure of the road on the date and time requested, and authorize the <br /> Director of Public "Works to issue encroachment permits for the temporary closure <br /> of the above road in future years. <br /> REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION: <br /> On May 1, 1990, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution R-90-592 approving <br /> temporary road closures for the First Annual Lincoln High School Band Parade held on <br /> May 5, 1990. Over the years, approval was granted by the Board for minor date and time <br /> changes. For the last several years, however, the additional road closure in November <br /> has been authorized by Public Works. The Lincoln High School Band Boosters'request <br /> to temporarily close the roadway, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., on the third Saturday of <br /> November, in addition to the first Saturday of May requires additional approval from the <br /> Board. The proposed Resolution is to approve both the event for this November and future year <br /> events. The Department of Public Works has not received any concerns with previous events. <br /> The detour travel route is being accomplished by utilizing Harrisburg Place <br /> Leesburg Place. , Douglas Road, and <br />
