'Wells KS-7 and KI-7 will be
destroyed by removing the top 1.5-feet from each well. Well KS-7 and KI-7 will then be
pressure grouted(20-40 psi)with a tremie pipe outfitted with a rubber gasket at the end
of the pipe. The tremie pipe will pump neat cement down the well until the well casing
and filter pack pore space is filled with neat cement. Dudek estimates approximately 15
cu-ft of neat cement will be needed to decommission well KS-7 and approximately 20 cu-
ft of neat cement to decommission well KI-7.
Table 1. For example
the excavation around well KS-7 will be at least 22-inches in diameter and the excavation
around well KI-7 will be at least 28-inches in diameter. A six-inch thick mushroom cap
will be installed above the destroyed monitor wells. The excavated hole will be repaired
following San Joaquin County Department of Public Works Department's R-29 Trench
Standard(Appendix C). Waste generated on site will be stored in labeled 55-gallon
drums and disposed of at proper disposal or recycling facility. The concrete/asphalt
repair will be inspected by the San Joaquin County Department of Public Works
Department.
If you have any questions, or require further discussion, please contact me at(760)479-
4131. °-
QOFE Ip
Sincerely,
Dudek&Associates,Inc.
rn
Na MM2SON
m
Derek Reed, P.E. k ICG
C10- `r
