Parade Rules <br /> Fmembers <br /> nds are divided into classes according to school enrollment,with Class AA being the largest schools.All <br /> the band and auxiliary unit must be enrolled in the school that they are competing in.The penalty for use <br /> tered students is disqualification from the band review. <br /> ging begins with an inspection shortly after each unit leaves the formation area. The inspection judge <br /> form dress and appearance,neatness,consistency and general condition of equipment and instruments. <br /> The competitors then enter a warm-up area where the unit is able to practice their marching and performance <br /> to prepare for the competition. <br /> A silent area follows in which the band must eliminate any noise that might distract the unit in the competition <br /> area directly ahead. <br /> The competition area is 450 feet long. When directed to enter competition, <br /> the drum major must the <br /> band.The band must step off smartly,marching at a specified pace,and musts tart playing before the last rank of the <br /> band crosses the"Competition Begins"line.The band must march and continue playing until the last rank of the band <br /> crosses the"Competition Ends"line. <br /> Music judges evaluate the technical aspects and overall performance of the competition piece.Each band is to <br /> have two scores of their competition music for the judges.These scores are either mailed ahead of time or are brought <br /> to the competition and handed to the judges by the band director.Each score should have the measures numbered to <br /> facilitate the adjudication process.Music scores are returned to the band director and judges score sheets are given to <br /> the band director during the awards ceremony. <br /> A showmanship judge evaluates the band from a standpoint of impact, visual effects, and confidence.
