GENERAL NOTES: <br /> 1. Existing drainage facilities shall remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor shall conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the existing <br /> drainage. <br /> 2. Street side Storm Drain Inlets shall be protected from liquid runoff sediments and chemical pollutant in a manner consistent with the requirements of the National <br /> Pollution Discharge Eliminating System (NPDES) General Construction Permit. <br /> 3. All existing trees, shrubs, fences, curb gutter & sidewalks and other frontage improvements are to remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br /> 4. Placement of asphalt concrete overlay shall not begin until the asphalt concrete used in pavement repair has been in place for 18 hours. <br /> 5. Hand Grinding of Asphalt Concrete Pavement will be required at locations where valve covers, maintenance holes or storm drain inlets are within the planing limits. <br /> Payment for hand grinding shall be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Planing Asphalt Concrete Pavement. <br /> 6. All earthwork, except for final grading of the shoulders, shall be completed prior to placing final layer of asphalt concrete. No shoulder backing shall be deposited or <br /> drifted on the final lift of asphalt concrete surfacing. Where the Shoulder Backing placement exceeds 0.30' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing shall be placed in two <br /> fully compacted layers. <br /> 7. Asphalt Concrete 0.17' shall be placed in One (1) layer- with pavement reinforcing fabric placed on existing pavement or prepared surface. <br /> Asphalt Concrete 0.50' shall be placed as follows: <br /> Alt 1) Two lifts of approximately equal thickness with the first lift placed with a paver equipped with tracks. <br /> Alt 2) A 0.25' lift placed by any mechanical means that will produce a uniform smoothness and texture with minimum segregation followed by 2 lifts <br /> of approximately equal thickness placed with an asphalt paver. - <br /> Z 8. Shoulder backing material at all intersection radii shall receive penetration treatment at 0.25 gallon/square yard. Limits of the penetration treatment work shall be <br /> confined to intersection radii plus twenty—five feet (25') in each direction. Payment for penetration treatment should be considered as included in the unit price paid for <br /> Penetration Treatment. <br /> N 9. Contractor is to notify the City of Stockton Municipal Utilities Department at (209) 937-8868 72—hours in advance of adjusting the Sanitary Sewer Maintenance Holes to <br /> CD finish grade. <br /> 0 10. Sanitary Sewer Maintenance Hole Frame and Covers shall be adjusted to grade per City of Stockton <br /> a <br /> o Standards. Refer to City of Stockton Standard Plans Drawing No. 39 & 54.
