GENERAL NOTES: <br /> 1. Existing drainage facilities shall remain in place unless otherwise noted. The Contractor shall conduct earthwork operations so as not to modify or obstruct the <br /> existing drainage. <br /> 2. Street side Storm Drain Inlets shall be protected from liquid runoff sediments and chemical pollutant in a manner consistent with the requirements of the National <br /> Pollution Discharge Eliminating System (NPDES) General Construction Permit and per Special Provisions. <br /> 3. All existing, trees, shrubs, fences and other frontage improvements are to remain in place unless otherwise noted. <br /> 4. Placement of asphalt concrete overlay shall not begin until the asphalt concrete used in pavement repair has been in place for 18 hours. <br /> 5. Hand Grinding of Asphalt Concrete Pavement will be required at locations where valve covers, or maintenance holes are within the planing limits. Payment for hand <br /> grinding shall be considered as included in the contract unit price paid for Planing Asphalt Concrete Pavement. <br /> 6. The contractor shall pay all applicable fees, and obtain an encroachment permit from the City of Stockton before performing any work on the Sanitary Sewers and <br /> for traffic control within the city's jurisdiction. Payment for this shall be considered to be included in project items of work. <br /> 7. All earthwork, except for final grading of the shoulders, shall be completed prior to placing final layer of asphalt concrete. No shoulder backing shall be deposited or <br /> drifted on the final lift of asphalt concrete surfacing. Where the Shoulder Backing placement exceeds 0.30' in thickness, the Shoulder Backing shall be placed in two <br /> fully compacted layers. <br /> 8. Shoulder backing material at all intersection radii shall receive penetration treatment at 0.25 gallon/square yard. Limits of the penetration treatment work shall be <br /> confined to intersection radii plus twenty—five feet (25') in each direction. Payment for penetration treatment should be considered as included in the unit price paid <br /> for Penetration Treatment. <br /> m 9. All Minor Concrete (Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk) that is to be removed shall be saw cut to the <br /> limits shown on the plans. The cost of the saw cutting and removal is to be included in the <br /> Minor Concrete (Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk) item of work. <br /> a <br /> 10. Existing Sanitary Sewer clean out frame and covers in areas of sidewalk replacement shall be s LEGEND:> preserved and reused. Compensation for adjusting sewer clean out frames and covers to <br /> �.
