CONCRETE CURB,GUTIER AND SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION NOTES <br />1.Curb,gutter and sidewalk construction shall conform to Section 73, <br />Standard Specifications,California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), <br />except as modified herein. <br />2.Reference is made to the local agencies Standard Specifications for additional <br />requirements relating to the construction of concrete curb,gutter and sidewalk. <br />3.Subgrade for Curb,gutter and sidewalk and Driveways shall be compacted to <br />a minimum relative compaction of 90%to a depth of 6".Where the subgrade <br />"R"value is less than 30,place 4"minimum of aggregate subbase class IV <br />under the concrete sections and compacted to a minimum of 95%. <br />4.All radii for rounding edges shall be 3/4"unless otherwise noted. <br />5.Portland cement concrete shall be Class 3,per Caltrans Section 90, <br />Standard Specifications,California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), <br />except as modified herein. <br />6.Expansion joints and weakened plane joint shall be placed as indicated elsewhere <br />in the Construction Standards.Expansion joint spacing shall not exceed 80'. <br />7.Curb,gutter and sidewalk shall have a light broom finish.curb and gutter; <br />parallel to the flow line,Sidewalks;perpendicular to the flowline. <br />8.Depress a 2"high letter 'W"or "S",1 1/4"deep into the top of the curb <br />to identify service locations. <br />9.During construction of gutters,water shall be used to ensure proper drainage <br />along the flowline. <br />1O.Access curb ramps,sidewalks and improvements in the ADA path of travel shall <br />be constructed in conformance with the Federal Americans with Disabilities Act, <br />California Title 24,and these Standards. <br />No.Revision Descri tion Date <br />COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN <br />DEPARTMENT OFPUBUC WORKS <br />Dale:DEC 2014 Std.Dwg.No.R.5 <br />Approved by:CONCRETE CURB,GUTTERANDSIDEWALKCONSTRUCTIONSTANDARDS <br />Work'iDg for YOU
