Steven Shih [EH]
From: Rodney Estrada [EH]
Sent: Wednesday, January 04, 2012 8:23 AM
To: Steven Shih [EH]
Subject: FW: septic repair at 1276 Airport Way, Manteca
Page 1 of 1
1/4/2012

From: Govea, Phil [mailto:pgovea@ci.manteca.ca.us]
Sent: Tuesday, January 03, 2012 4:33 PM
To: Rodney Estrada [EH]
Cc: mfuller@velociter.net; Molina, Manny; DeJong, Jim
Subject: septic repair at 1276 Airport Way, Manteca

Rodney Estrada
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department

Rodney,

The City of Manteca received a call today from Michael Fuller (cell #209-456-2865), a contractor who is trying to
get a permit to modify a septic system at 1276 Airport Way in Manteca. He said that he had spoken with you,
and that he was required to get approval from the City prior to doing work on a septic system in the City Limits
when a public sewer is available within a reasonable distance.

While we normally require residents within the City to use City facilities, the nearby public sewer in this case is a
pressurized force main. Given the health and safety risks involved, the City does not want residents to connect
directly to a force main. As such, the City has no objection with the proposed septic system work provided it is
limited to modification or repair of the existing system. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Phil Govea
Deputy Director of Public Works - Engineering
City of Manteca
(209) 456-8400
