LLNL Emergency Plan <br />Rev-23 <br />October 2017 <br /> <br /> 64 <br />4.2.7 Transportation Equipment <br />The Fire Department operates three paramedic-staffed ambulances 24 hours-a-day, <br />7 days-a-week basis; two ambulances service Site 200, and one services Site 300. Mini-motor <br />coaches, operated by the Laboratory Fleet Management Department, can be used to transport <br />injured employees if requested by the on-scene IC or the ED. <br />4.2.8 Personal Protective Equipment <br />Personal protective equipment is maintained by the ES&H Directorate and housed at various <br />locations throughout the site. Personal protective equipment for the Fire Department meets <br />National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. <br />4.2.9 Hazardous and Radioactive Material Monitoring Equipment <br />Air particulate samplers, air vapor samplers, hand-held combustible gas analyzers, portable <br />radiation detectors, and other equipment are maintained onsite by the ES&H Directorate to <br />respond to releases of hazardous materials. <br />4.2.10 Damage Containment Equipment <br />The EMD maintains some containment equipment, and other equipment is staged in the <br />Laboratory corporation yard. During an emergency, information about specific equipment is <br />available from the IC and CF&ID. <br />4.2.11 Fire Department Equipment <br />The ACFD manages and maintains LLNL-owned apparatus and equipment used in firefighting, <br />technical rescue, hazardous material and emergency medical responses at LLNL. Inventories are <br />available at the Fire Department. Apparatus and equipment meet NFPA standards. <br />4.2.12 Emergency Power Equipment <br />Buildings containing systems that may be needed during a power outage are supplied with <br />emergency generators. Portable generators are available through both the EMD and CF&ID. <br />4.2.13 Logistic Support Equipment <br />Logistic support equipment is maintained and supplied by the various Emergency Management <br />Team organizations and is available through the IC or DOCs. Additionally, the EMD maintains <br />facility key plans and run cards for all facilities. Maps to aid emergency responders are available <br />in emergency response facilities, in plans/procedures, and on some emergency response vehicles.
