Section 6
Exhibit 2
06/14/11
Carbon Monoxide:
Flood cleanup activities may involve gas or diesel powered pumps, generators and
pressure washers. Because these devices release carbon monoxide — deadly, colorless
gases — never bring them inside or use them in a confined space.
Electrical Hazards:
If water has been present anywhere near electrical circuits and electrical equipment, turn
off the power at the main breaker or fuse on the service panel. Do not turn the power back
on until the equipment has been inspected by a qualified electrician. Never enter a flooded
area or touch equipment if the ground has flooded unless you are certain the power has
been turned off. Never touch a downed power line. If you need to clear an area that has a
downed power line, call the local utility company before approaching the area.
Structural Instability:
Flood waters can rearrange and damage natural walkways, as well as sidewalks, parking
lots, roads, buildings and open fields. Never assume that water-damaged ground or
structures are stable. Buildings that have been submerged or have withstood rushing flood
waters may have suffered severe structural damage and could be dangerous. Assume all
stairs, floors and roofs are unsafe until they are inspected. Leave immediately if unusual
noises arise, as they may be a signal of a possible collapse.
