U IVAR <br />CONTINGENCY PLAN <br />06/14/11 Replaces 03/10/10 <br />SECTION <br /> SUBJECT <br /> PAGE 1 <br />ELEVEN <br /> TRAINING <br /> 0F2 <br />POLICY: <br />All employees and contractors of the branch are to be familiar with the contents of this plan. <br />They must know the primary and secondary exits within their respective work areas, as well as <br />the location of fire extinguishers and first aid kits which they may utilize in an emergency. <br />Prior to performing work at the facility, contractors shall review and understand the <br />requirements of this plan. Exhibit 1 of Reference 1.23 of the OSM should be used to <br />document the contractor training and maintained on file at the facility. For spills, all <br />contractors shall immediately notify the branch operations manager or supervisor of any spill. <br />Contractors shall not manage any spill, including small releases of hazardous materials. All <br />response actions shall be managed by appropriately trained Univar personnel. <br />CLASSROOM <br />All branch personnel with hands on contact with hazardous chemicals and hazardous wastes <br />are to receive appro'priate training and review from a qualified instructor. Branch personnel <br />include the Branch Operations Manager/Supervisor, Emergency Coordinator (if not the same as <br />Branch Operations Manager/Supervisor), Alternate, and all operations employees. <br />All new operations employees are to receive this training within two months of hire. Training is <br />to be repeated as outlined on Univar's refresher training matrix. A copy of the training outline is <br />included at the end of this section. Documentation indicating that the required training has <br />been conducted should be kept in the Documentation Manual; attendance sheets are <br />submitted to Corporate Operations for data entry into the Training Trackker database.
