It was found that pipe run 4 passed the one
hour pressure test and sump 3 passed the Caldwell hydrostatic test. Pipe run 3 was unable to
hold pressure and future investigation was needed for the source of the leak.
Addendum to the application for permit to excavate two 3x10 foot areas on pipe run 3, one at
approximately 90 feet and the other approximately 20 feet from the south end of sump 3, to
repair and replace the 6" secondary containment piping and 6" sleeve coupling. After the
installation, a retest with nitrogen gas will be conducted to find other leaks.
The permit has been approved with the following conditions:
1. Contact the local fire department and the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control
District for any applicable permits and requirements.
2. Any changes in information and scope of work must be submitted to EHD for approval
prior to commencing work. All new addenda supersede the previous ones.
3. Contact Thuy Tran at (209) 468-8257 to arrange the following inspection appointments
(a 48-hour notice is required for inspection appointments). Please be aware that
inspections for emergency work must be scheduled within five days of permit approval.
a. If there are no manufacturer's guidelines, test shall be performed using
an applicable method specified in an industry code or engineering standard.
b. Primary piping soap test: One hour pneumatic pressure test at 110% of operating
pressure, or 40 psi, whichever is greater.
