Medium Pressure Refrigerants (R-22, R-12, R - <br />134a, R-500, R-502, R-507 and blends) <br />6.8.19.3 Site arrival: <br />6.8.19.4 Contact client or other appropriate site contact person; explain <br />procedure & who sent you, if applicable. <br />6.8.19.5 Confirm work to be performed. <br />6.8.19.6 Confirm refrigerant type; use Neutronics Refrigerant Identifier as <br />appropriate. <br />6.8.19.7 Use a gauge to confirm there is a charge in the unit if possible. <br />6.8.19.8 Set up: <br />6.8.19.9 Park truck mounted unit as close as possible to unit location — <br />remove recovery unit from truck and roll <br />6.8.19.10 to set-up location as appropriate. Try to remain within 5 degrees of <br />level. <br />6.8.19.11 Confirm security, protection from traffic hazard. <br />6.8.19.12 Try to maintain line of sight from unit to equipment area. <br />6.8.19.13 Attach recovery machine outlet hose to recovery cylinder and <br />open. <br />6.8.19.14 Start unit, open lines to suction hose. <br />6.8.19.15 Unroll hose, protect landscaping, walls, etc. from hose. <br />6.8.19.16 If inside protect walls, carpets, etc. from hose. <br />6.8.19.17 Hook up: <br />6.8.19.18 Connect suction line set to both high and low side ports if possible. <br />6.8.19.19 Use king valves, Schraeder valve removal tools or piercing tools as <br />appropriate. <br />6.8.19.20 On very large liquid charges use pull — pull procedure to remove <br />liquid. <br />6.8.19.21 Recovery: <br />6.8.19.22 Monitor suction and discharge pressures. <br />6.8.19.23 Monitor recovery -cylinder for weight, pressure and non- <br />condensables. <br />6.8.19.24 Check system for cold/icy spots indicating liquid pockets. <br />6.8.19.25 When system shows appropriate vacuum level shut off suction <br />from recovery machine at unit and <br />6.8.19.26 watch for a rise in pressure; if pressure rises, continue recovery and <br />repeat, until vacuum level <br />Printed copies are uncontrolled. <br />This copy valid only if revision letter matches that of controlled document <br />
