SP I'LL, LEAK OR DISPOSAL PROCEDURES <br />ActionsijTo Take in case of Spills or Leaks: Restrict from areas of <br />spi s or eaKS persons not wearing protective equipment and clothing. <br />Eliminate sources of ignition. Ventilate area. Inform supervisor or <br />health and safety officer of any spill or leak. While protecting against <br />eye andM skin contact and inhalation of vapors, contain spill. Prevent <br />leakage into confined spaces or sewer drains. Where feasible, absorb <br />liquid ,with vermiculite, sand, or other non-combustible absorbent <br />material. Collect in suitable container and cover. <br />Disposal, Methods: Federal laws and regulations impose highly specific <br />requirements for disposal of toxic and otherwise hazardous materials. <br />Consult with your supervisor or health and safety officer regarding the <br />proper, ilegal disposal procedures for this substance. Do not dispose of <br />potentially toxic or otherwise hazardous substances without appropriate <br />authorii'ation. Prior to receiving institutional authorization, it may be <br />necessary to store spilled materials. To do so safely, carefully label <br />containers of materials, store in a cool, dry location, and maintain <br />security of the storage area until official guidance is obtained. <br />SECTION X.
