REACTIVITY DATA <br />Stabil ity: Stable under normal storage conditions and handling. <br />PA Reactivity: 0 <br />-Incompatibility (Materials to Avoid): Strong oxidizing agents, sparks or <br />open flames. Nitric acia ana toluene, especially when combined with <br />sulfuric acid, will produce nitrated compounds which are dangerously <br />explosive. <br />Hazardous Oecomposition Products: Oxides of carbon and nitrogen. <br />azaracus o ymerizaci on: oes not occur. <br />SECTION IX. SPILL, LEAK OR DISPOSAL PROCEDURES <br />Actions To Take in Case of Spills or Leaks: <br />Restrict from areas of spills or Ieaxs persons not wearing protective <br />equipment and clothing. Eliminate sources of ignition. VEnti1 ate <br />area. Inform supervisor or health and safety officer of any spill or <br />leak. While. protecting against eye and skinn contact and inhalation <br />of vapors, take the following steps: <br />o Liquid: Contain spill._ Prevent leakage into confined spaces or <br />sewer drains. 'Where feasible, absorb liquid with vermiculite, <br />sand, or other non-combustible absorbent material . Contaminated <br />absorbent material should be stored away from sources of heat and <br />ignition. <br />o Vapor: Ventilate area to keep vapor concentration below lower <br />flammability limit. <br />Disposal Methods: <br />oa quantities: dispose of absorbed material, i.e. vermiculite, <br />dry sand, earth or a similar material in a secured sanitary <br />landfill or atomize in a suitable combustion chamber. <br />o Large quantities: dispose via a licensed waste disposal company. <br />Follow federal, state and local regulations. <br />SECTION X. SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION <br />Respiratory Protection: Only H IOSH or MSHA approved equipment should be <br />used. Minimum respiratory; protection required for vapor: <br />>200 and_<5OO ppm: Chemical cartridge respirator with organic <br />vapor cartridge(s); or supplied air respirator; or self-contained <br />breathing apparatus. <br />1000 ppm: Chemical cartridge respirator with full face -piece and <br />organic vapor cartridge(s). <br />12000 ppm: Gas mask with chin -style or front- or back -mounted <br />organic vapor canister; or supplied -air respirator with full <br />facepiece, helmet or hood; or self-contained breathing apparatus <br />wi th full facepiece. <br />>2000 ppm or entry and escape from unknown concentrations: Self <br />contained breathing apparatus with full facepiece operated in <br />ENVIRdoc,ic BATA <br />
