LIQUID SENSOR
DESCRIPTION
The TSP -PS Liquid Sensor is a point liquid sensor
which may be used with all Tank Sentinel' automatic
tank gauge consoles equipped with point sensor inputs.
It may be installed in the space between the walls of
double wall tanks, in sumps, or in other locations
where the presence of liquid indicates a leak has
occurred. The TSP -PS is based on electro -optic
technology and is made of chemically resistant
polysulfone plastic to assure compatibility with most
liquids. Each sensor is supplied with 25 feet of oil
resistant cable attached. The TSP -PS features reliable
operation, easy installation, and the utmost in safety.
THEORY OF OPERATION
The secret to the TSP -PS's reliability is its electro -optic
technology. Inside the body of the probe, a small light
emitting diode creates a beam of infrared light. This
light travels through the transparent plastic prism to
its surface. If the probe is dry, the light is reflected
back to a light sensor. When the probe is immersed in
liquid, the light travels out into the liquid, and no light
is reflected back to the light sensor. The light sensor's
output signal is used to indicate whether the probe is
wet or dry.
ORDER PART NUMBER: TSP -PS
5/8" HEX
I
1/4" NPT
5 V DC (RED)
GND (BLACK) IMFI
OUTPUT (WHITE) F ----2.50-j
Distributed by:
000-1229
TANK SENTINELtm
APPLICATION
The TSP -PS may be installed in fiberglass or steel
double wall tanks as well as in sumps and other
locations. To install the sensor in a fiberglass tank, it
is typically pulled into the interstitial space using a
"fish" string or wire. In steel tanks, the probe is
usually lowered directly to the bottom of the interstitial
space through a 2 -inch NPT fitting provided for that
purpose. Installation kits are available which include
a riser cap and other parts required to complete the
installation.
STEEL TANK FIBERGLASS TANK
INSTALLATION INSTALLATION
CON
INTELLIGENT CONTROLS,INC.
P.O.
