Pagc 1 of 1
Nuel Henderson [EH]
From: Nuel Henderson [EH]
Sent: Tuesday, April 29, 2008 3:25 PM
To: 'ktlarson@waterboards.ca.gov'
Cc: Margaret Lagorio [EH]; Lori Duncan [EH]
Subject: 5-Yr Review 640 N EI Dorado Street
Kirk,
In the opinion of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department, this site requires a bit more work
before closure consideration. The EHD has directed that the following issues be addressed:
1) Quarterly monitoring must be resumed, the last monitoring event was conducted 2nd quarter 2006 and was
discontinued without EHD concurrence;
2)The presence or absence of free product in monitoring well MW-3 must be demonstrated;
3)Groundwater samples from MW-3 have been analyzed for TRPH by EPA 418.1, the analysis was dropped in
all other wells after four or fewer analyses with detection limits ranging from 1,000 to 10,000 micrograms per liter.
The EHD has directed that at least one round of analyses utilizing EPA Method 1664A be conducted to ensure
the absence of the hydrocarbons;
4)As the former UST and system was located in a warehouse, the potential for vapor intrusion must be
evaluated;
5) Residual contaminants must be evaluated by comparison with Region 2 ESI-s.
A work plan has been received and approved to investigate the vertical extent of impacted groundwater and to
evaluate the potential for vapor intrusion.
Let me know if you need any additional information.
Nuel Henderson
(209)468-3436
4/29/2008
