The facility has a 10,000 gallon diesel tank and failed to prepare a written Spill Prevention Control and <br /> Countermeasures (SPCC) plan. The facility owner stated that the tank is not being used. Either prepare <br /> a SPCC plan, remove the tank from the facility or close the tank. <br /> Close the tank by doing the following. Remove all liquid and sludge from the tank. Dispose of the liquid <br /> and sludge as hazardous waste. Send a copy of the hazardous waste disposal manifest to the <br /> Environmental Health Department (EHD),,,Disconnect and blank off all piping. Close and lock all valves. <br /> Leave the vent pipe open. Place a sign of the tank stating that the tank is "permanently closed" with the <br /> date of closure. Call the EHD to schedule inspection of closed tank. cif/ , =Zat�G <br /> If the tank is removed from the facility then do the following: Provide the destination address in writing to <br /> the EHD.
