Box 2009 Stockton , CA 95202 REVIEW OF REPORT FOR APACHE PLASTICS - 250 EAST FREMONT STREET - STOCKTON , SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY Below is a staff review of Apache Plastics ' Report , dated August 1990 , and County comments on 27 December 1990 . The following staff comments should be incorporated with your correspondence : Neither report contained conclusions or recommendations for future work at the site . All reports in the future are to contain conclusions and // recommendations . Z . The ground water at the site is fairly deep , with the static water level about 50 feet below the mean sea level . Although wells on - site were installed with adequate screen length , they were installed with only a few feet of the ground water screened ; MW3 has already gone dry and it is possible that more wells might go dry as well . ,3 . Future wells are to be screened 10 feet above and 20 feet below the anticipated ground water level . The shallow ground water screening creates a problem in sampling for constituents that are considered " sinkers " like 1 , 2 - dichloroethane and 1 , 1 , 2 , 2-tetrachloroethane which have been detected in their ground water . Investigations are to be done by sampling deeper into the aquifer for these constituents . �F . The time between sampling and when the lab received samples was too long in certain cases . Therefore , a thorough QA/QC program for your sampling procedure is to be incorporated into the workplan . /5 . DCA and EDB were found in several wells . These constituents are associ - ated with leaded gasoline ; therefore , organic lead also is to be sampled . /6 . In the N a report , several industrial and domestic wells were identified within a one mile radius of the site . Three wells are within 700 feet of the site . Considering the proximity of these wells , it is important to know the level from which these wells are drawing water and the volume of water that is pumped . Wells 2 , 5 , and 7 on Figure 1 , near the site , must be sampled for TPHg , BTEX , DCA , EDB , and tetraethyl lead . These wells could be influencing the plume at the site .
