San Joaquin Street ENVIh'ONMfINIAL i l-AI IH
Stockton , CA 95201 PERMIT oSEr2`_qp J
Dear Ms . Ratliff :
Apache Plastics has had some very costly investigative work done by
Western Geological Resources during the past two years , which has defined the
nature of the soil contamination and the condition of the ground water under
and around our tank leak location .
Please read the enclosed report from Western Geological Resources and
note the following :
1 . The direction of ground water flow is south/southwest ( page 6 -
Figures ) .
2 . Up-gradient , is Stockton Taxi Company ,
3 , Western Geologicrs report states that Stockton Taxi Company is on
the San Joaquin County underground fuel tank leak list ( page 3 ) .
4 . The levels of 1 , 2 DCA ( a chlorinated solvent used for cleaning parts
and equipment ) has been increasing on a steady basis during monitor-
ing ( page 3 - tables ) .
As I indicated during our telephone conversations , I would like to meet
with you to discuss the above items , as well as the following :
1 . Alternatives available to Apache regarding up-gradient soil and
ground water conditions ,
2 . Temporarily paving over the former gas tank hole to ; reduce safety
hazards , allow Apache access to the section of the truck bays that
have been blocked for 2-1 /2 years , and to keep rain water from
entering the open pit further contaminating the ground water ,
Please read the report and advise me of an appointment time and date .
Sincere).y, ,
Daniel L . Crownover
Vice President , Mfg . & Eng .
DLC/laj
Enclosures : WGR Report
Perjury letter
cc : Lawrence H . Beasley
