ISCO AND AEROBIC BIOREMEDIATION
RegenOxTM is designed by Regenesis of San Clemente, California (www.regenesis. com) as an
advanced chemical oxidation technology that destroys contaminants through powerful, yet controlled
chemical reactions for periods up to 4 weeks . RegenOxTM is a patented material distributed by
Regenesis to provide an advanced chemical oxidation media to destroy contaminants through
controlled chemical reactions which oxidizes contaminants using a solid alkaline oxidant that
employs a sodium percarbonate complex within a multi-part catalytic formula. Background
information about RegenOxTM is included in Appendix B.
ORC Advanced® is also produced by Regenesis, designed to stimulate aerobic bioremediation by
providing a controlled oxygen release for periods up to 12 months in a single application. ORC
Advanced® is a proprietary formulation of food-grade, calcium oxy-hydroxide that can accelerate
the rate of naturally occurring aerobic contaminant biodegradation in ground water and saturated
soils. Background information about ORC Advanced® is included in Appendix C .
2 . 1 . RegenOxTM PRACTICE AND PRINCIPALS
RegenOxTM is a patented material distributed by Regenesis to provide an advanced chemical
oxidation media to destroy contaminants through controlled chemical reactions to oxidize
contaminants using a solid alkaline oxidant that employs a sodium percarbonate complex with a
multi-part catalytic formula. RegenOxTM directly oxidizes contaminants while its unique catalytic
component generates a range of highly oxidizing free radicals that rapidly and effectively destroy a
range oftarget contaminants including total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g),
benzene and 1 ,2-dichloroethane ( 1 ,2-DCA). RegenOxTM also releases a quantity of oxygen that can
provide a smooth transition to bioremediation.
2. 1 . 1 . RegenOxTM Application and Reaction
RegenOxTM is usually delivered to the subsurface by pressure injection using direct push methods.
Injection of RegenOxTM through wells may be achieved, however the well may experience residual
product and required cleaning. RegenOxTM application process consists of two components, Part A
(oxidizer) and Part B (catalyst). RegenOxTM is supplied to the environment (soil and ground water)
as liquid slurry of Part A, Part B and water, which interacts with ground water and then produces a
cascade of efficient oxidation reactions via several mechanisms that include surface mediated
oxidation, direct oxidation and free radical oxidation. These reactions destroy a range of
contaminants and can be propagated in the presence of RegenOxTM for periods of up to 30 days on
a single injection. RegenOxTM produces minimal heat and is highly compatible with follow-on
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
