9mcon <br /> . �. <br /> 1433 Norah Market Boulevard •Sacramento California 95$34 1943 • (916)928-3300•Fax(916)928-3341 <br /> July 18, 1997 <br /> Project 22611-100 001 <br /> Mr Lawrence H Beasley <br /> President <br /> Apache Plastics, L P <br /> P O Box 5127 <br /> Stockton, California 95205 <br /> Re Site Closure Report for Apache Plastics, L P , Located at 2050 East Fremont Street, <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Beasley <br /> At the request of Apache Plastics, L P (Apache), EMCON has prepared this site closure <br /> report for the subject site (see Figure 1) This report presents results of the additional <br /> subsurface investigation, cumulative soil and groundwater data, estimated mass of <br /> hydrocarbons present in soil and groundwater and rationale for requesting site closure This <br /> report was prepared in accordance with Appendix B of the Tri-Regional guidelines and <br /> was prepared for review, comment, and approval by the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services (SJCPHS) and the California Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> (CRWQCB) <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The subject site is located in a mixed commercial/residential neighborhood in east-central <br /> Stockton (see Figure 1) Topography in the area is flat, at a surface elevation of <br /> approximately 22 feet above sea level <br /> Based on information gathered during a file review at the SJCPHS, in August 1988, <br /> Precision Industries Inc , observed the removal of one 1,000-gallon underground storage <br /> tank (UST) (see Figure 2) A soil sample was collected from beneath the UST at <br /> approximately 9 feet below ground surface (bgs) Total petroleum hydrocarbons as <br /> gasoline (TPHG) and benzene were detected at a concentration of 3,400 parts per million <br /> (ppm) and 61 ppm, respectively <br /> Between August 1989 and December 1993, Western Geologic Resources, Remediation <br /> Services, Inc , and BSK and Associates performed additional subsurface investigations A <br /> total of ten borings were drilled and converted to seven monitoring wells (MW-1 through <br /> PO <br /> SAC1K\2611CLOS URE-95tidms 1 <br />
