(GR) collected soil samples at the subject site in
order to pre -profile soil in areas to be excavated, in order to facilitate direct loading and removal of the soil from the site_
The work perforated Nvas originally proposed in OR work plan 9346408.10, Disposal Profiling of Soil, dated April 6, 2000.
This work was approved by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) on April 10, 2000_ A copy of
SICPHS soil boring permit X0022.85 is attached.
Oa April 12, 2000, GR collected ten composite soil samples from three areas at the site Service Bay, Car Wash Reclamation
Tank, and Reverse Osmosis Tank areas (Figure 2). Sat( sampling was performed using a GmProbe. CeoProbe activities
were performed by Fisch Environmental (C57 #683865). In the Service Bay Area, samples were collected at 2, 4, 6, and 8
feet below ground surface (bgs) from five borings, and samples were collected at 2, 5, 10, and 13 feet bgs from four borings
in the Reverse Osmosis Tank area, The four samples collected from each of these borings were composited into one sample
for analysis. Two borings were advanced in the Car Wash Reclaimation Tank area, and samples were collected at 4 and 7
feet bgs. The four samples in this area were submitted as one composite sample.
Ten composite soil samples were submitted to Sequoia Analytical (FLAP 91624) for analysis. Each composite sample was
analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as jasoline (` PHg), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX), and
methyl tert-butyl ether (MtSE) by DHS LlJFT Method, and for lead by EPA 600ORDOO Series Methods. Laboratory reports
and chain -of -custody are attached. Results of the chemical analyses are summarized in Table 1. Soil in the Service Bay and
Reverse Osmosis Tank areas had minor concentrations of ethylbenzenc and xylenes up to 0.0921 and 0.337 parts per million
(ppm), respectively, Soil samples from the Car Wash Reclaimation Tank area were non -detect for TPN-, BTEX, and MtBE,
Based on these results, soil excavated from the Service gay and Reverse Osmosis Tank areas will be hauled from the site by
Chevron for disposal at BFi landfill in Livermore, California. Soil excavated from the Car Wash Reclaimation Tank area
will be stockpiled on-site for use during subsequent construction activities.
if you have any questions, please call us in Sacramento at (916) 631-1300.
Sin rely
1]avid Herzog
Geol grist
tephen J.
