They
will be loading this soil from the excavation directly into trucks for transport to the disposal facility. To facilitate direct
loading, Chevron will pre -profile the soil. in place. This will be accomplished by using a Geoprobe to advance borings
in each of the proposed excavation areas. These borings will not be logged. Soil samples from the borings will be
composited as required by the BFI landfill in Livermore, California. On completion the borings will be backfilled to
ground surface with neat cement.
The proposed service bay will be excavated to approximately 8 feet below ground surface (bgs). Five borings will be
advanced, and soil samples will be collected in each of the borings at 2 feet, 4 feet, 6 feet, and 8 feet bgs. Four borings
will be advanced to 13 feet bgs in the proposed reverse osmosis tank pit. Soil samples will be collected a 2 feet, 5 feet,
10 feet, and 13 feet bgs_ The four samples collected in each of these borings will be composited into one sample. Two
borings will be advanced in the proposed car wash reclamation pit to 7 feet bgs, and soil samples collected at 4 and 7
feet bgs. These four soil samples will be composited into one.
Ten composite soil samples will be submitted to Sequoia Analytical (FLAP # 127 1) for analysis_ The samples will be
analzyed for TPI -Ig, BTEX, MtBE, and total lead. If the soil is not impacted, disposal of the excavated soil will be the
responsibility of Prime Shine. If impacted, soil will be transported to BFI for disposal_ BFI will require the two samples
with the highest TPHg concentrations also be analyzed for halogenated volatile organics.
GcoProbe activities will be performed by Fisch Environmental (C57 #683865).
